Ok guys i'm currently buildin my car up, i wanna try to get the most power out of a stock motor.

So far i have

Stock EVO2 motor, ECU, inj etc (commetic head gasket, APR head studs)
EVO2 AWD gearbox with LSD (locked to fwd)
Small 16G with standard dump
Exedy heavy duty clutch
3" exhaust
Evo cooler and piping
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Apexi AFC
GFB bov
Apexi AFC-R
Pod filter

What do u guys think i should do next??

Get the ECU chipped, 264/264 cams, Upgrade the clutch.

Or you can spend the money on a good whiteline suspension kit so it handles well.

ahh sorry i forgot to say i already have an exedy h/d clutch, how much am i lookin for cams, and from where

I think you should have written Apexi AVC-R electronic boost controller... you wrote the AFC twice :p

I'd go the chipped ecu, bigger turbo and injectors next dude... something like a 20G or the GT3071R (GT28) you're currently selling would be sweet  Being FWD you should get 250kw atw on the stock engine internals as plenty of AWD EVO's get easy 230kw or so on stock internals with just bolt ons so I wouldnt even touch the cams yet (the Cometic headgasket and ARP headbolts you just fitted are perfect for this). Oh yeah, you're gonna need to upgrade your suspension and rubber engine mounts to reduce wheel hop and keep the front end down for the FWD. You'll find it pretty fun to have this much power in a FWD due to traction issues so going much more power than this you have to concentrate on getting it to the ground successfully rather than building the engine up for more power. Basically sort out the traction first when you get to this stage in development, then sort out the extra HP afterward

OT: I think its so funny Mik e posting and you replying

They are brothers and work on each others cars hahhaaa

as posted on the other forum:

Im making 220kw ATW out of my setup and i guess its similiar to what you want.. here is what i have:

- race prepped big16g
- 3' turbo back exhaust
- stock e3 bottom end
- unported head
- HKS 264/264 camshafts
- Performance Springs valve springs
- recently installed ARP head studs
- cometic head gasket
- no balance shafts
- chipped ecu
- walbro pump
- 450 x 300 x 76mm intercooler 2.25 hot 2.5 cold (very short 1.6m worth of piping)
- 560cc Evo 8 RS injectors
- Custom 4 paddle clutch 2000lb

20psi of boost on synergy 8000..

with the above mods id expect 230kw at the front wheels easy.

Jon

*note i saw that you still retain the standard dump.. get a new one made as the dump is what causes boost creep when running a 16g.

He has never asked me that question and so I'm answering it :p He does live a few hours away you know and he probably wants to hear other opinions as well - what??? mine not good enough little bro?????

Just wanting to hear other peoples opinion aswell :p

JSTYLEs setup is the shiz i want

so 1st few things i need to do is

Get a custom manifold made up with a T25 flange and bolt that GT3071R on it, then i will need a new custom dump to suit it

Find some 264 in and outlets cams or do u think 264 inlet 272 exhaust cams??

2.25 hotside and 2.5 coldside cooler piping do well on my setup ?? or should i just get 2.5 allround?

Would i need bigger injectors than the 510cc??

What about valve springs and balance shafts, would they improve it and what are the advantages??

And now with the ECU.. where can i take it and how much would it cost?? Do they just tune the eeprom to suit my setup?

Yerp just buy an off the shelf manifold to suit.

Whats the outlet size of the turbo? if its 2.5' go 2.5' if its 2' go 2' or 2.25'

Youd be hitting almost 100% duty cycle of the 510s.. so i recommend
something bigger.. 560cc seem to be doing my car just fine.

I havent toyed around with 272 exhaust yet.. but from what ive got on my car i like.. so i think i might play with cam gears instead of going bigger camshafts.... but then again its personal choice..

If you do cams.. definately do valve springs.. you dont need to do retainers tho.. but i guess if you can afford it do it..

Balance shafts.. well i guess thats personal preference too.. i had my motor rebuilt so i decided to do it then.

The ecu chip.. well i could send you a copy of mine if you want.. its a generic chip.. but your car wont run any richer then 10:1 at its richest reading.. same chip in my car that made 219.7kw and also run 118.76mph.

No offence but whoever you spoke to and advised you that it was ok to run standard valve springs.. well obviously they have no clue in hell!!!! Anyways im not a mechanic nor do i claim to be one.. but i think you can replace the springs without pulling the head off.. best to speak to your mechanic about it..

in terms of money.. if your on a budget you can run performance springs from qld.. they are what i have on my car.. ($190) but if budget is no concern get yourself some manley ones.. they are around $330... they are dual spring and the bee's knee's..

Yep, I remember my mate telling me he had it done and they pressurised the cylinder bores to hold the valves up so they wouldnt drop or something - never seen it done myself personally as I've always had heads off and reco'd at the same time

there is also another way, remove spark plug, using a long screw driver check the piston is at BDC, then insert heaps of plastic rope through the spark plug hole, rotate piston till rope is tight against the piston and valves.

never done that way though
