ok guys.. i was driving my car today down nicholson.. and it started making a wierd arse noice.. decided to pull over and get it towed to chasers..

anyways, got there scott told me.. all my bearings are gone and i snapped my rod or something like that..

i basically need a new engine coz he said the cost of rebuilding it would cost as much as just getting a new engine.. roughly 5k mark inc. labor..

what do i do? if i get an evo engine from cvap, do i have to go up there and bring it down...

SXYGSR.. you were selling an engine a while back - have you still got that..?

whats the cheapest alternative atm..

hey mate we r in the same boat, well kinda, car has been off the road the last 7 weeks, i've only owned it for 8, had my bday last week and me and the mrs had our 2yr anniversary and i couldnt even take her out in my car, she had 2 drive in her car, anyway, i just ordered a evo motor from cvap, andrew is really helpfull, no u dnt hav 2 pick it up, i paid $85 frieght from him straight to tech sport in bayswater. i thought it was a good price considering its a whole engine package. call andrew and tell him ur a member of team4g and ryan told u 2 call him, im sure he'll take care of u.

i have a 4G93 motor sitting at home that is out of my yellow car.. its in good condition and i only pulled it out to put a worked motor in.. might be tempted to sell it at the right price

if you go the evo route.. make sure you buy a good motor because the evo's are getting on in time and alot of them are suffering from cracked cranks or crank walk itself..

Just stick another 93 in there.

Im sure there are a fair few around, that are cheaper, and just basically bolt back in, plus then you have a few spares . No mucking around, no different wiring looms, engine mounts, all the other crap assosiated with changing to a different engine imo, unless you have a spare car and alot of time/cash.

theres one on ebay atm, $800, 150,000kms.

You never know what's wrong until you open it up dude. So get a couple of mates to help you out in removing the engine and open it up and have a look see. As far as you know a big end bearing let go and little pieces of it are making the noise. The cheapest alternative would be to fix it yourself with new components. It'll probably cost the same amount as what it'll take to buy another whole 2nd hand 4G93T anyway. Either way you have to remove the existing engine anyways so if you can do it yourself to save some $$ it would be great. But I agree, buying a complete 2nd hand 4G93T would be the easiest option, but probably not the best.

oh yeah and forgot to add.. last night i was driving to rental car to go TAB and get my lil brother soothers.. on the way back got pulled over coz i ran an amber.. which apparently was a red.. and driving with no p plates on.. thats a total of 6 points.. and i only had 1 point left.. so now waiting for the fines coz apparently they had somewhere else to be.. fkn arsehole dogs..

hopefully i get put on probation...
