Wheel bearings

Hi all,

I'm doing a 5 stud conversion on my EVO 1 and need to replace front and rear wheel bearings. I'm using EVO 4 rear hubs and FTO front hubs, can I assume bearing part number MB303865 will fit?

i believe that part number is front only, so anyone know what part number for the rear?

Also, anyone know anything about 'uprated' wheel bearings, I use my car on circuit only?
Any info greatly appreciated.

Ash.....Im Pretty sure if using those hubs you still use early wheel bearings on the rear if your using the rear arms from Evo 1 ?
Im using e7 rear hubs on mine with early arms and have been told to use the early wheel bearing.
The rear bearing for early evo is MB 663547

Like Ive already posted...if your using the early arms...you use the early bearing regardless of which hubs are being used.

MB303865 is correct for the front wheel bearing too.

not correct, evo 4 on have the same type bolt on bearing unlike the early press in ones.

I called CBC, price as follows:

Front: part number MB303865
$181.84 per bearing includes inner and outer seals

Rear: part number MB663547
$66.86 per bearing and does NOT include seals.

Anyone know if the rear bearings have seals?

Yeeha go to auto barn I got my front bearings for 120 the pair fronts included seals

yep they're not cheap I agree, but after some calling around, apparently CBC sell the better quality of bearings. You get what you pay for in this case (well.., i hope so).

bearings are bearings mate. In the end honestly not the bearing that matters, as long as they are installed correctly and driven sensible you should not have a problem

all they are is a few bit of steel sandwiched together with some grease

Not true....I remember back In my old skateboarding days...there were the cheap shit bearings...or the ducks guts which were the Nachi bearings...If you didnt have the Nachi's you werent cool.

no seals on the rear ash, and I also agree, "bearings aint bearings". mind you front ones from mits were only $100 or so I believe

Autopro sold the fronts for $68 with seals, but only sold rear as full hub asembly which were $150 each. Autobarn had the fronts for $38 with seals and rear same price also. Mitsi was $500 all 4 bearings.

When i asked the guy at Autopro on "WTF is going on with prices of bearings", he said they're all different quality. He recommended i go with CBC because they have a QA process and apparently select the best bearings to sell.

Bearings r bearings is not true. There r definitely poor quality 1s and top of the line 1s. How eva just cause you r paying more money doesnt make it a gud bearing. Shop around and stick to trusted brands.
