i have a e3 bonnet and a my bootlid that i would like to get carbon fibred, i hear that there is a vynl that can be used as its much cheaper....

any one know of any good places in melb?

thats not carbon fibre then.
carbon fibre is an actual material. so its the whole panel that would need to be replaced. it's not really a vinyl that gets put over the top.
thats gonna look so cheap.

When done properly this does not look cheap!

Modicoat is whom you are looking for... have seen this done to the boot and wing (on a skyline) but it did look the part... only concerns are stone-chips etc would look crapola

There are some other companies that do similar work...

Got rice??

I reckon its bullshit unless you have a car that actually NEEDS carbon fibre. Like a race car?

Its like putting those electronic b.o.v's on an N/A

I was gonna do a carbon fibre print on the hood since I vinyled the whole car.

Only diff is that it wouldn't have the reflection effect of true carbon and light weight.

i disagree.
carbon fibre's more of a look than a performance enhancement. and the persons individual taste.

Thats true, but I dont see how you can justify spedning your hard earned cash on a pretty patterned panel- surely there are better things to buy? Like a pair of nice Recros of something?

I doubt most of us would notice any improvement in performance etc of our cars if we replaced every single panel with carbon fibre.

For 99.9999% of us it'd purely be a visual enhancement, but IMO only if the panel was REAL carbon fibre, not a 'stick on skin'.

Otherwise it'd look tacky and cheap and if you want tacky and cheap get them to install one of those exhaust tips that light up when you touch your brake pedal when they're doing your panels :p

thats like saying how can someone spend so much money on airbagging their car when they could have spent that cash on buying recaros for it?

at the end of the day its their cash, and if they like it, go for it! btw i think carbon goodies looks tops on a car!

Real carbon lasts 12 months in direct sun. Just remember that.

My vote is for regular panel + 2 layers of actual carbon ontop. that will provide the look you need.

And dre, yay for lorider?

I dont understand why anyone would airbag their ride full stop!

Bags are for fagz....

Dro's get the hoes haha :D

Cash is cash, so what. If you wanna blow a wad on some imitation carbon then go right ahead- speaking from experience, the SR2 Recaro's were one of the best mods i've ever done in my old VR'- I know that they'd smoke the hell out of CC GSR seats thats for sure! :D

Each to their own though right?

Seems to be alot of the ol' "each to their own" convo happening lately! :p
