Hi All,

I would just like to thoroughly recommend the Whiteline Castor bushes and Camber bolts for the GSR Lancer!

I installed these in my spare time while waiting for my gearbox rebuild which took all of about 5 mins each :wink:

What a difference they have made. Before my car was an understeery pig and it made it quite difficult to push on in motorkhanas to get a remotely decent time. I had some s14 drift cars getting better times than me...whislt drifiting!!

Now it is seriously like its on rails, turn in and hold on because it just bites...I can't get over it.

And the Gearbox is soooo smooth, its almost brand spanking inside, everything is new apart from the actual gears. All the worn syncros and new bearing all round. No more WRC style whine though, which I did kinda like apart from on long trips, worn bearings make a huge difference to the percieved power of the engine too.

I was going to look at new wheels and tyres to try and reduce the understeer and move up to 17's from the factory 14's. Thats still on the agenda, but now only from a looks perspective.

Was thinking of these on a White GSR:

My Suspension otherwise is:

New KYB OEM replacement shocks
Standard Springs
18mm Whiteline/Selby rear bar
Whiteline Castor Bush/Anti Lift Kit
Whiteline Camber Bolts

I am looking at the Whiteline Strut Braces next and maybe the G4 Coilovers in a year of so, so I can set the ride height to how I want it. Kings 'Lows' are too low for some of the places I drive :(

Nice work mate,

I also found the anti-lift kit and the camber/caster setup worked a treat also!

Where bouts do you go with your car that the King 'Lows' cant?
My GSR had an E3 kit with front lip and I didn't have any probs getting anywhere with those springs. with 17's there still was about an inch gap between the guard and the tyre.

I regularly go to a mates farm that involves about 1km of gravel that gets pretty rutted in the winter. Plus I like to have a bit of fun on the entry road to the property :wink:

But if you say there is still an inch between the wheel and the guard with 17's then that sounds like it will be ok. I thought it would be sitting right on the tyre with those springs.

I can fit my whole hand in there at the moment :wink:

hey, what does the castor bushes and camber bolt actually do? Camber points the wheels in an angle in (negative) or out (positive) yea?

I got my whiteline strut bar installed last week :D
I will get to the sway shortly.

This anti-lift kit i must sus out a bit... hrm.

Camber is the inclination of the wheel from the vertical when viewed from the front. When the top of the wheel leans out you have positive camber, lean in equal?s negative camber.

Caster is the backward or forward tilt of the steering axis. Vehicle manufacturers are aware of the advantages of caster and as each new model is released the amount of caster specified increases. For example, the VB Commodore was released with around ? degrees positive castor; the VT now comes standard with around 9 degrees!

Caster - "When too much caster is never enough"? ? 5 reasons why.

* Maximise tyre contact patch during roll
* Improve turn-in response
* Increase directional stability
* Maximise tyre contact patch during braking and acceleration
* Improved steering feel and self-centre
* Increases dynamic negative camber (on turn)

Castor Vs camber, try castor first. Why?

* Camber doesn?t improve turn-in, positive caster does.
* Camber is not good for tyre wear.
* Camber doesn?t improve directional stability.
* Camber adversely effects braking and acceleration.
