Choosing the right engine oil for your car can seem like a daunting task, especially with the number variations and scientific terminology adorning each bottle of engine oil lining the shelves at your local automotive store. That’s why Motul have devised their new range of premium everyday 100% synthetic engine oils suited to late model vehicles, known as H-Tech.
“So what’s the big deal with synthetic engine oils?” you may be asking. In general, the key difference between conventional and fully synthetic engine oils is that synthetic oils contain high performance fluids and a system of technically sophisticated additives to help prevent wear, keep an engine clean, maintain viscosity, prevent rust and reduce friction.
Synthetic oils can be engineered to perform more effectively than conventional engine oils across a wider range of conditions. Their performance is more robust, in terms of low-temperature pumping and flow as well as high-temperature oxidation stability. They stay fluid at very low temperatures when conventional oils start to thicken,and remain stable at very high temperatures when conventional oils start to break down.
Under extreme driving conditions synthetic oils offer clearly superior protection and performance. Extreme conditions include:
• Stop-and-go driving;
• Short trips;
• High temperatures, particularly in modern turbocharged engines;
• Cold start-ups.
This translates to less engine wear to help keep your engine running strong like new, as well as a long engine life.
Conventional engine oils also contain significantly more impurities and undesirable contaminants that cannot be removed and synthetic oils do not possess. Because they are ‘purer’, synthetic oils contribute to lower emissions and don’t do as much damage to your catalytic converter, whilst also tending to last longer because they naturally break down slower than conventional oils.
If your engine is high performance, or you simply demand the best performance possible from your engine oil, then Motul H-Tech is the perfect choice.
Motul H-Tech 100 Plus 0W-40 and 10W-40 provides the ultimate level of performance in all modern petrol engines. H-Tech 100 0W-40 has been engineered for cold environments for easy engine start-ups. Both engine oils have been designed to meet the API SN specification, providing exceptional engine protection and excellent anti-oxidation properties to prevent premature oil thickening and ageing due to thermal stress, which maintains a clean engine.
MotulH-Tech 100 Plus 0W-20 and 5W-30 have been designed for those seeking fuel economy performance. They have been designed to meet both the ILSAC GF-5 and API SN specifications, while providing the ultimate level of power especially for modern petrol engines, as well as exceptional engine protection and fuel economy with the latest technology to ensure emission control systems durability. The high performance anti-wear, anti-corrosion and anti-foam additives result in the reduction of internal friction in the engine thus increasing engine life.
Motul H-Tech Prime 5W-40 has been specifically designed for new generation petrol, diesel and LPG-powered engines, turbocharged or direct injected. It’s outstanding detergent and dispersant properties meet the ACEA A3/B4 requirements, with superior anti-sludge and anti-wear performance to keep your engine clean and protected.
Motul H-Tech 100 and Motul H-Tech Prime can be mixed with synthetic or mineral oils.
Always refer to your vehicle’s owner manual or handbook before use, and remember that with all oils, regular oil changes are essential.
