I might just be coming out to watch. As I didn't get as much done to it yesterday than I would have liked, the car will probably be in pieces getting it ready for the Rally that's on the following weekend.

Anyone feel like going for a drive to Gatton (well half an hour south of Gatton) on Saturday 1st May to watch some rally cars?

Especially if it is just the vcu, you don't even have to pull the box to replace it. Although I can't image a vcu ever "locking up" and causing your problem.

it ok tim, apart from an overtightened timing belt. are you going to be busy on yours the saturday of the drags? we might put my i/c and piping on that day. need to get the roadworthy done. might try this week on thursday
