wiper washer motor

hey guys ... have got a 98 Lancer wipers work except for the intermident and the washers ... have checked all the fuses that I am aware of ... is there a seperate fuse for the washers ????

Check all the fuses in footwell it might run off something else?

thanx evo-gsr checked all them all working fine checked all fuses under bonnet all working as well

Maybe the stalk is ****** then?

yeah that was my next thought ... but the wipers still work only the intermident and washers dont ... not getting any power to washer bottle ???? could it still be cause of the stalk mate ????

I would think so...considering each function is basically a separate switch on the stalk.

Intermittent has a control box too. under dash.

Do you have multimeter

no multimeter jack but can get one ... what do I check

I will pull the diagram for the cc lancer after work and check it out. they are wired the same but may have different wire colours.

The wipes and washes are positive switched so power is supplied to the stalk and this distributes the power to the motors for the wipers and washers. the motors are earthed themselves

combination switch (stalks) is a common fault, the contacts get ****** inside and can fail on some functions

That was my original suggestion as this being the cause of the problem....

You probably right. i just forget that everyone here is rich, and are quite prepared to buy parts without testing for the problem.
Yep, chuck in a new stalk. 95% will fix it. if not we will test after.

on second thoughts, if there is an issue with the wipers I would suggest replacing the whole car
