Wireless charger in car

Anyone ever think about or look into doing this? My irrational thought is im being shoehorned into using my mobile for music through bluetooth most likely and i hate the idea of pissing around with cords, and having to use most of my phones charge on long trips etc. I figure if its feasable enough itd be cool to have a little wireless charging pad built into the centre console somewhere (thinking at the front in a galant in the little carpeted section) and be able to just put the phone down and it charges when the car is on.
I hate electrical work though and usually outsource it so i dont screw it up so my knowledge is somewhat limited when it comes to the fancy stuff. Is this a plausable idea or is it destined for the too hard/too costly basket aka pip dream basket.

Every car/home charger ive seen is USB or wall socket. Id need to deal with that. Mounting is not an issue i can screw around with cutting up a console etc and making it work. What im concerned with is it going to be all ok in regards to right volt/amp etc off a car battery, id imagine i want a switch wired in thats overseen by the ignition so it cant be on when car is off and its toggled by a switch when car is on.
Im probably making this sound more complicated than it is though.

Then plug the wireless charger into that.

yes just wire in a 12v input / 5v USB like this to the "ignition on" circuit, something like the cigarette lighter or stereo supply.

Looks like itll be near on perfect dimensions to slot it straight in where i want it. I notice it says 9v though, whilst the converter linked is 5v max. Do i need to find another that is 9v so it wont charge slow etc?

To the best of my knowledge all USB is 5V, and at the bottom of your link it mentions the input and output is 5V so I don't know what the 9V it talks about is.

Edit: note your charger uses USB-C so you will to by an adapter / standard iPhone cable to get it to work with most hardwire car kits.

I have a samsung wireless charging pad, Telstra gave it to me with my phone. You can have it for $50 if you want it? Pretty sure they are 100 or so. I’ve never taken it out of the box

Apparently that 9v is the fast charging option, so itll be fine and standard charging at 5v but the fast charge option at 9v will simply charge it faster. For my application i dont think im going to bother trying to get the fast charge option working. As long as the charger keeps up with a music streaming app on a closed screen itll serve its purpose which isnt hard to do.
Ill be tinkering with fitting it next weekend as itll be here mid next week. But dimensions will be very close to being perfect for a nice snug easy fit fingers crossed.

thanks for the offer, but ive already purchased a very specific type as the shape of it comes into play a lot more than other factors and a big circle pad wouldnt fit where i want it to fit.
