hey guys,

im thinking i may need a slimline fan for when this new turbo goes in...

i'm just wondering, do i just cut the existing wires and solder the wires on the fan and that's it?

will the fan run constantly if it doesn't have a "thermo switch" type thing or does the computer determine when the fan starts and stops?

i know in my old rx7, i had to have a temperature sensor connected to the fan to determine at which temperature the fan will kick in.

cheers :)

I fitted a Davies Craig 14" fan

just cut the wires straight off the orignal fan motor and connect the new ones to the orignal wiring going to the car

if I can remember its even the same color wires

(blue,Black)

dont fit it near the exhaust manifold side, they do melt after awhile

The factory setup is such that the radiator switch gives the fan power when it is a certain temp. Wire it in and you'll be fine! Add a relay if you like

easy peasy! the old rx7 was a carby motor (no computer) so it had nothing to tell the fan when to turn on.

im glad these cars arent they same :)

Yeah I realised that was why you needed the aftermarket fan switch after I sent it!
The hardest part for me was making mounts. The mounts that came with my ICE fan are nowhere near the stock location. People have said none are as good as the stock fan but mine flows a LOT of air! There's a noticable breeze with it on

i noticed a rise in temps in the rx7 when my 12 inch push type fan was installed. it flowed nowhere near as much air as the clutch fan did... but the clutch fan was off balance and i was experiencing violent vibration through the car, more as revs increased.

where did you get the ice one from? i found a few on ebay, but they're mostly 16 inch which is pushing the boundaries a bit i think.

i just got my stock fan off...

just wondering what the part is with the two wires and plug coming off it

does everyone else have one of them or is it just me?

when wiring up the new fan, is it just the power and ground cable that need to be connected?

how did this fan work out for you after all this time lol?

trying to plumb up the cooler pipes for the gt35 & looks like i have to ditch the big stock fan for something much thinner.

i just dont want to fit something thats inferior to the stock fan in regards to cooling the radiator

cheers
