Help Support 4GTuner:

I'm sorry Ausvr4, but that's just how it is in W.A. No-one can help unless you wave huge amounts of cash under their nose, You wouldn't believe how much I've paid for some things on my GSR, but they have you over a barrel here, and you just have lube up and take it unfortuneatly.
A good example is the Carbon Fibre Plug cover and Cam gear cover I had made. It cost me just under 1k all up, and took the guy 5 months to do it. I wholly agree it's just pure profiteering but that's just how it seems to be here,and if you want custom parts/jobs in Perth your hands are tied.

I've recently reverted to buying from Japan,USA,UK wherever possible because it is usually always cheaper, and better quality and you seem to get the parts quicker. I envy you guys over east, there seems to be alot more fabricator's there who actually want to do the job for an honest price.

Anyway, to stop hijacking your thread (sorry about that) have you tried any shops who build/specialize in racecars, they probably do this sort of thing all the time.

I can do it in my bloody university lab in my spare time :/

actually you can't because then the part will be classified as University property and they will probably charge through the ass for it; and you also need to be supervised unless your a post-grad - which in that case wtf you doing back at uni? get a job!! :lol:

But i fully agree with your price after a template is made;
considering its <500g worth of 5THK S.S. it would take a laser cutting joint 3min to cut it out.

Try http://www.formulamotorsport.net/
They offer a laser cutting service, and I'd say if they can't make it, they'll know someone who can for you.

Keep us all posted on how you go, I'm sure others will need the same things done in the future :) And if you can get them done for a decent price I'm sure the guys at Tenagah will be interested in buying off you.

Cheers
Aaron

Actually depends on the uni, your qualifications and what you're experienced with. I can lathe, lasercut, cnc and all that... but I have no idea which way is up with a welder. I can also lay carbonfibre and fibreglass - yet another thing I learnt at uni.

If you use uni machines with your own materials, it's yours not theirs. It also depends how much your lab supervisor likes you :)

That said, i wouldnt' do it at uni anyway, i'd take it to the lasercutting joint here and as said above, it'd take about 3 minutes to cut one. :)

$138 usd sounds pretty reasonable to me does anyone have contact details for this guy? as i'm after a set for the 313mm rotors anyway.

failing that, If anyone has the schematics for these brackets i'd be more than happy to go get prices from some of the local sheetmetal guys near where i live they make brackets and car conversion pieces all the time for all the local rotor boys.
