As per above I would like the ignition illumination parts to plug into my jap gsr loom.

And also need the jap gsr climate control version of this thing

It is mounted on top of the black ac box behind the glovebox. Dunno what it is but it probably needs to be there lol.

Thanks
:)

Pretty sure that's a temp sensor for the A/C. Pretty sure it has a hard "wire" coming from it, going through into the black plastic case and pokes into the core that's in there...

From memory the GSR (non jap) has a silver/gold wire, where the EVO (or jap spec) has a wire that is coated in a blue rubber or plastic (it's been a while !!).

I'll see if I can get you a pic tomorrow of mine. It may help someone spot the right one for you..

Best bet to find one though would probably be Trade me in NZ!! That's where I got most of my smaller stuff like that for mine from.

Well my memory's not as bad as I thought.

Here's a pic from when I built my car. It doesn't show the sensor box itself but it does show the blue coated wire I was talking about !! LOL.. I'll try grab a pic tomorrow but may be hard as it's up on top of the box as you know.

The gsr one has 3 wires where as the evo one only has 2. Do you think there's any chance I could use the 3 wire one if I worked out which of the 2 I needed? I'm guessing the system relies on it because at the moment the air coming out is always hot...

Ok. Memory refreshed. No you can't use the sensor at all. The sensor used in a jap spec is a digital sensor.

It's just a wire with the sensor on the end. It doesn't use the little box like you have at all.

The blue wire in my previous pic is the sensor itself. It just plugs straight in to the two pin connector you have.

Here's a few pix.

Pink arrow is where it goes into the box. Orange is the direction it heads off in.

Then it just go up loops around and plugs in to the two pin connector you have.

As you can see here no little sensor box like an Aus spec. Not the best pic but this is the general area where your sensor is.

Hope that helps you find what your after anyways.

All good.

You may also be able to get it from other Mitsubishi's that are around the same age that have climate control.

Like how you can get the little temp sensor that goes in the heater box from FTOs that have climate control !! (Pic below)

That was probably the second hardest part I had to source for my car. The hardest being a working key FOB and receiver with antenna...

Local Mitsubishi dealer doesn't have that part number in the system. I think I might go down to the wrecker and see if they have any mitsubishis with climate control and see if it uses a similar sensor.
