WTB: COP setup for vr4 motor

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I'm wondering what sort of coils they'd use, and if they'd be cheap and nasty ones. Anybody had experience with them?

Apparently the 300M coils are the way to go. However, I still think you're wasting your cash on a C.O.P setup on a mildly modified car. Stock coils are fine. Its one of those urban myths that a modified ignition system will get you more power. I'd fix the problem and spend the cash on real mods :)

Im running 300M COP's I bought from the US (Buschur items) because after installing the Magnus intake, Aeromotive FPR and other goodies, I have no where left to mount the stock coils (not even on a special bracket you can get that bolts to the black of the block as I have aircon there) :lol: Only thing on the coupe is that my bonnet just fouls on a couple of the COP coils so I will have to make up a different spark plug cover and put the COPS on an angle and not in a straight line to clear it.

Hello all;

Is anybody selling a COP setup? Preferably in Sydney.

Cheers,
George

George You cant go past GT Pumps Mark Boxel owner Prop he is located in Sydney and you can normally arrange to meet him at Meek Automotives workshop at Girraween as Mark lives not far from there and has extensive knowledge he's always willing to share or advise on someone buying his products.
BTW Mark is the M in M&W Ingnition Systems so you are talking to the man himself first hand.

Yep, and Mark got me to measure my COP 4G63 plate up for him and thickness when I got mine in from the US. Then he started making up his own exact COP versions and selling them here for cheaper than what I bought mine for so hes a pretty dedicated guy who knows his stuff :) oh and everytime I visit his site I keep eyeing off those M&W ignition systems too :lol:

i hear your pain.
i have just purchased and installed a magnus and too can not find any way to mount the coil packs.

am doing my best to make a mount to mount them to the firewall on the weekend, will just buy new leads.

running AEM CDI 2 ignition system

You will need an aftermarket ignitors as the COP systems will not include them as standard..
