WTB: Dry cell battery

You don't want to drain the little ones - even a little bit - or you'll be paying for it! I've had to jump start my car countless times...

True, if my car doesn't get driven for a fortnight, the alarm will flatten the battery enough so that it won't start and relays just click like mad. I have a little solar panel to trickle charge it and keep it topped up for that reason.

i agree
those small ones suck for day to day stuff...
mine goes flat overnight!!!

im using an oddysey pc650 or something like that..

for your daily troy, get a normal batt or something over 650, if your planning to save weight though, your not doing much.

anyway, price wise they go for around 300ish

mines the other way around, its great for daily usage. Just don't expect it to power a stereo at resonable volume while you are changing a clutch.

Its going in the boot (most racing regs state dry cell if inside the car (inc boot))
I use to have one, but it died, just haven't replaced it, and my battery is stuffed (did 800km on Sunday, sat at 14.xV the whole time)

I know a guy who sells dry cell batterys, dunno anything else about em tho, was there tonight, saw the rack, they are oddesy brand I think, he does custom car sterio installs, I bought a new amplifier, so when I hook it up I will be back there, (probly Satday) I'll ask him how much if you want one. I'm sure he will do a fairly decent price.

I have had two Odysey batteries and all they were both good for were as wheel chocks. Their back up warranty is non existent and both died after about one year. For big stereos, I use to use Optimas.

You can buy solarpanel battery chargers from Jaycar (about $100), I got one from "The Warehouse" for $30 and its still working after 3 months :D

:( I killed my little dekka sealed battery. Tried to charge it back up and ended up overcharging it (stupiditiy on my part, I forgot about it and left it charging overnight). So apart from $190 for a new little Dekka, I am also going to throw out my 20yr old battery charger and get a new electronic one that will automatically switch to trickle charge when the battery is topped up.

Bumpy, what did you end up getting?

He got some weird american thing starting with a P. It's about 100mmx50mmx100mm. Very very very ******* small. Works fine tho. I'm pretty sure it's for a motorbike.

I've got one about the same, i think it starts with a D and is american also. Rated CCA from it was 688 on the tester so it should be good :)

All for 120 dollars too.
