Hey Guys,

i might be asking alot but im chasing a complete undamaged evo 1-3 rad surport panel, must be undamaged and complete

or does anyone know where i can get one or the peices new?

The Sedans yes they are the same but they dont have the evo mounting points im after, if i cant source an evo panel then ill be getting a standard lancer panel

and im after both the top and bottom

A standard sedan/coupe rad support panel won't have the threaded nutserts in the lower member for the intercooler mounts or the thread stud for the upper intercooler mount on the rad support strap. It won't also have the two tabs on the upper member for the EVO front bar to bolt to.

BUT!

There is a hole on the RHS (I think!) of the rad support panel lower member that you can put a M8 or M10 nutsert in, which will then let you drill and insert a nutsert into the LHS of the rad support panel lower member for the two lower intercooler mounts. You should be able to knock up a bracket with a bolt welded/tacked in place and weld that to the rad support strap for the upper intercooler mount. As for the tabs for the front bar, you could cut and bend some brackets and weld them in place.

Paint the whole lot up the one colour and you won't even be able to tell the difference.

its not just those brackets, its also for the front thermo fan, the top i/c pipe mounts, the factory cut out for the i/c pipe (next to the rad) and the factory cut out for the i/c pipe (outside of the panel on the drivers side)

the i/c cooler and oil cooler brackets aren't the issue it the other brackets, but like i said i know its a long shot but ill just see what happens

but yes

There is a hole on the RHS (I think!) of the rad support panel lower member that you can put a M8 or M10 nutsert in,

there is a hole there this is what i've done with the lancer to mount the evo cooler

I've got a brand new one but I need it for my car, you can try speaking to Travis (sivart) that's who I got mine through, but I would be a wait as I got the last one in Australia

oh 700, not too bad i guess for new, if i cant get something second hand ill hit him up

What was the price on that?

I think the proton ones are around $200.
But as above, they need a fair bit of work to get it to evo spec.

pretty sure (99.99%) sure the jummy ones are the same as the cc sedan ones.. you can get them new from places like sss for around 120 ish i think there still around that price

Dont go looking for coupe or Proton front radiator support panels as they are different and lower than the sedan ones (except Proton Wira I think? but fuk what are your chances of finding a Proton Wira one lol).

i just put a gsr support panel in the jumbuck, from cwolf old shell that i lopped off before he threw it out (same shell i got the tailshaft support from). It is the same depth, well it takes the same height radiator.

My evo intercooler piping went through the proton gap beside the radiator without any mods. just had to cut away the part of the panel where that big airbox thing is to get the other pipe through.

so, ben. if you want. i have a buggered proton rad panel, with evo intercooler mounts that are salvageable. I also have a good gsr fan, complete with mounts that would need to be welded to your bar.
I have not got the brackets to support the front bar up near the bonnet, or if any brackets are required for oil cooler bits, i dont have.

just as a aside, i dont have a rivnut or nutsert tool. I used the flare nuts or flanged nuts, the ones with the washer attached. I drill a hole and tap the nut in till the washer part is against the panel, then weld the washer to the panel. there is about 1mm protrusion and if thats too much its pretty easy to tap it down a bit lower.

cheers, jack but i do want an evo one.. the new piping i have on the jummy is bigger then the standard piping and i need the top i/c brackets cos there isn't much room to play and i need to bolt it down

i have the oil cooler brackets and the top i/cooler mount on the jummy rad atm, its just all the small shit i need

i've got a few different places/people i can try.. i dont mind waiting
