If you have a 14b now it could be tricky.
The rear of the 14b wheel is different to the 16g and 20g wheels.
Plus you would need to have it balanced professionally as well.

Are you sure tim?
From my knowledge the only difference between a 14B and 16G is front comp cover/comp wheel and rear housing. The turbine wheel to my knowledge is the same! I can double check with Kyp (my mate who owns Advanced Turbo Performance). 99.99% sure it is..

Anyways why buy an upgrade kit? as tim says it needs to be balanced and then you need to put a seal kit thru it. Add $250 + $200. You may aswell buy one of their complete 20G turbos.

The turbine wheel is the same Jon. It's the actual back of the compressor wheels that differs.
Have a look here, the 14b is on the left and the 16g is on the right.
See how the back of the 14b wheel is flat.

if you put a 16G wheel on a 14b it will sit out to far so it will touch the comp cover, you can change the other bit also but its better to start with a 16G from the start

you can change it over without a balance aslong as you mark ou the points and put it all back together the same way , Ive done it a few times now and the turbo has been very reliable

The 14B center plate is on the left, the 16G on the right. Note the taper on the 16G plate.

buy one new here or get your 14B built into a 20G - that's what I'm doing.. I wouldnt trust any of that ebay stuff myself... much rather get new one/ rebuilt one by the man in the know... plenty of superlap winners with his turbos
