I'm chasing the speedo gear mechanism which bolts into the top of the gearbox and has the speedo cable threaded onto it.

Must be from EVO gearbox.

Really? I am pretty sure I have a GSR one in my gearbox at the moment from when I was running a GSR LSD in my FWD locked EVO box. It seems like my speedo is out by about 10-13km/hr.

wouldnt your speedo be out from the big wheels?

is it reading slow? so your going faster than the speedo says?

Interesting, I always thought the mechanism was the same for all GSR/EVO boxes and the cluster had the gearing in it required to suit either a 180kmh or 240kmh speedo? Try another Cluster Shayne, maybe just a stock GLXi one and another japspec 180kmh one to see any difference? (dont worry about the tacho during testing lol)

The mechanism might be the same... I don't profess to know for sure. My speedo is reading faster than what the car is travelling. I've checked it a few times on the overhead speed checkers on the Hume on my way up to CVAP in Shepparton.

I'll give another cluster a go and see what happens.

ive got a speedo mechanism out of a w5m31 box (RVR hypersports). Looks exactly the same; but ill double check and confirm.

Those speed checkers are ****!!

On the way to Heathcote one day I sat on 110km/h exactly and it read out 105km/h.

I had the stock rims and tyres on for the car.

borrow a gps and check it shayne

there are hardly any cars that are exact from the factory, especially @ 100kmh

I know that my GPS always matches those speed checkers. I say your wheels / rubber have put off the speedo in your car.

thats spot on there is a 10km allowence so you could be doing 90km when it says 100

Ah it's all good I suppose, as long as I'm going slower than what the speedo says then I'll never get a ticket
