Ive got one for a Proton GTi, i think it might be the same.....can you confirm, btw it came out of a car that had done 60k kms

let me know

cheers

a magna one can be "made" to fit....but it is thicker and making it fit requires some time spent upside down with a die grinder making the hole it slides into larger

Whats the Magna pipes made of Brian??

The standard Lancer ones are crap and keep breaking over time

This might open a few more doors for you ;)

There are 2 different thicknesses of heater cores out there. Both are listed in ASA Mitsu Parts Database.
I am not sure how to determine which one is thicker than the other therefore Ive listed up the part numbers and pics:
Part number MB897429
Part Number MB897430

These models are covered/listed as having both thin and thick heater cores  :
CD9A, CE9A Mitsubishi EVO 1-3
CD5A Mitsubishi GSR Lancer Turbo
DE2A,DE3A Mitsubishi FTO
CA3A, CA4A Mitsubishi Cyborg (the Satria looking one)
Mitsubishi CC Lancers GLXi
I dare say CE Lancer and CE Mirage fit as well.

You can put a thicker heater core into a thinnner heater unit as Brian described by cutting out a larger hole in the plastic heater box.
You can fit a thinner heater core in the thicker holed heater core box but there is about 5-10mm spare on either side and it could rattle I guess.
You can always grab the complete heater unit from another car whether thin or thick if you're desperate and transfer it into your car.

UF Nimbus heater cores have alloy pipes. You can cut the pipes off the square bases, turn and tig and make them suit the CC shape.
Actually somebody just make alloy brackets for our heater cores already!! Im surprised no one is selling them lol
