WTB:LSD for a VR 4 Box

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

If anyone had one of these you'd have to hope they left it for you in their will...

From my research into it, the front viscous can't be converted to 3.5 unless you get some esoteric part from a lancer, and the front mechanical LSD's are like hens teeth. Rockabilly (aldo) on the proper GVR4 forums knows lots about them. I think early RS's had a 3.5 mechanical? Also I think the plus side on their rarity is they're a straight swap for an open diff...

Maybe try calling an importer and see if they can chase you one in Japan? Or just buy an aftermarket diff...

viscoud lsds require a different rh driveshaft and crownwheel,

i think this applies to the front and back of evos & vr4s

I guess the other option is to change to 3.9 and get a viscous LSD for the front, at least you can get a rear LSD at the same time.

Its looking like a aftermarket one if i cant find one soon.

it was my understanding that you could remove an evo LSD unit (viscous or mech) and put it in the GSR diff..... and therefore retain the 3.5 ratio :?

I don't believe its that straight forward. Jetgsr has done this recently and will be able to tell you what had to be done.
