if you are planning on tracking your car.. go alloy. else, standard will still do the job just fine.

+1

just remember that if you get one from a wrecker to have it pressure tested and all the crap cleaned out of it. the tanks should come off

cheers

theres a guy in syd which i got mine of for $330

its koyo brand- not alloy though.. its the brand new copper/brass ones like stock ones

02 9600 8485

better than mitsi who quoted me over $900

Where is it leaking? if it is just the top tank split which I think is a common occourance, then get it fixed, this happened to mine and it cost me about $110 for a new top tank fitted.

i paid $120 from a wrecker. in good nic no dings. i had tanks removed and core cleaned then unit pressure checked. all up $200

if i was going new i would go alloy. OEM tanks are plastic and are known to crack (usually from overtightening the house clamps due to leaks from partial blockage)

nah its not in the tanks.. its in the fins.. been sealed before - not going to bother fixing it again...

i have a standard evo 2 one thathas been pressure tested and
fitted with a new top tank...are they the same as the gsr???

they are different. the gsr has a sensor position in the bottom tank for the fans. in the evo its blocked off

only the series I GSR has, series II or late model GSR's don't have a sensor port in the radiator also...
