Wanted: Front 3 point strut brace for Evo 4/5/6/6.5
Item Information: I want the 3 point type (struts x 2, plus firewall). I cannot run aftermarket, due to M2 rally rules. It must be genuine Mitsubishi OE. No rush, but if anyone sees one lying around. I am cash "challenged", so I'm prepared to wait, rather than pay top dollar to get one quickly...

hey scott,

what about incorporating it into the cage? ie a cross throug the dash from the front legs to opposing strut tower, its super strong, alot safer for the big hit in the front and it solves the strut brace issue..

just a thourght.. :p

Hi Lewis,

Good idea, but at the moment I don't have the cage going through the firewall. It's still a bolt in

I am looking into beefing up the cage ATM, probably better side intrusion bars to start with, just need the $ and time. The cage is currently out of the car so I can take it in the envirocrusher to the cage bloke for a bit of an idea of what my options are....

Cheers,
Scott.

and Georges cage looks the goods so that guy would definatly be worth a shot!

Hi Guys,

Thanks Tom, I'm trying to get a brace for a better price than Jeff. If I get to the time near the next event, I'll have to spring for Jeff's price. I'm shorter of $ than I was last year, so I'm having to be a penny pincher.

Doug/Lewis: The cage I have is a 6 point bolt in made by Malvern Motorsport. It's kinda like Picture 253-3a in Schedule J, but has an additional bar above your head (north south) between driver + co, and a single diagonal bar (east west) from B-Pillar to B-Pillar.

I really don't want to go weld in, because sometimes I take the cage out for driving on the road. The car is still road registered, but the cage probably isn't vicroads compliant.

Doug: that would be great if you were able to introduce me to your bloke. I was going to go back to Malvern Motorsport because (a) I was happy with their work, and (b) I thought it might make logbook alterations easier as they were the original manufacturer, but I'd be happy to talk to your bloke..

Cheers+ thanks,
Scott.

P.S: Still need a cheap strut brace :)
