I wanna turbo my gsr, (i need a full turbo setup, which i doubt anyone will be selling)
How much am i looking at here?? i dont wanna get a whole half cut, i just wanna get what i need or will it be cheaper to get a whole front cut??
im a newb at all this so any input is good input for me ** 2 thumbs up ** :)
 
Way cheaper to get the half cut.

Grab an Evo 0 halfcut (they have the good bits)

The reason being that you need to transfer the loom and computer when you put the motor in. That's the major fault.
 
are u trying to say that i would have to swap the whole motor over from the evo 0?? cant it just be a bolt on??
 
if u have a GSR galant its not simply a case of bolting the turbo up and turning the key. the injectors, ecu and engine internals will not be up to the task. unless of course u run pathetically low boost, which will mean u can possibly use the std injectors and at the same time maintain your engine. if u do this tho i doubt the performance gains will be much
 
basics let's start at the top.

Fuel

Pump is too small needs to be replaced
Tank - car line needs to be increased in diametre slightly
Injectors are like 370cc (enough to supply a lawnmower maybe)
rail needs high pressure fittings if you boost through it or it blows leaks

Intake manifold

is shit (basically?)
has no provisions for boost referencing like the turbo motors to the ecu

Head

cams are WAAAAAY out in terms of profile
lifters suck monkey nuts
everything else is the same (i think)

Block

NO OIL SQUIRTERS (woo??)
far weaker rods (smaller and thinner)
high compression (9:1) pistons (this is a GOOD thing)
headgasket will blow on 7psi of boost almost guaranteed

ECU

Needs to be replaced for all the turbo fittings.
Install new sensors
Install new wiring
Hack the shit outta the loom to do the above

....

I can go on?

or you can buy a halfcut :D

can get evo 0 front cut, rear subframe, diff, driveshafts, etc in adelaide for $3500.

honest opinion? sell it and get a zr4. awd, and less hassle.
 
Yes i do understand the procedure of undergoing a turbo conversion.
I would rather buy the parts at my own pace for the right and have them sitting there untill i have completed my checklist

Buying a halfcut doesnt sound like my cup of tea due to the fact i have fuck all space to store it and i just plain cant be fucked swapping a engine.

So basicly im just after some one selling parts if any one has any id be interested in pricings
