*It's an ugly mug, but you always play the hand you've been dealt with ;)

Hey Hey Y'all, how are we?

I figure if I'm going to start randomly posting everywhere, maybe an intro should be in order? I've owned Mitsubishis from the beginning (think 1994 onwards) and have owned:

-Two Sigmas (a GL Sedan "Super Saloon" and a more utilitarian GK Wagon).
-A Magna-that-thought-it-was-a-Verada wagon (TS with some KS bits) for 10 years.

After putting the pennies together and swearing an oath to do my best to learn what I can to maintain it, I dove into the deep end and picked up a 1998 JDM Super VR-4 Legnum back in July 2007.

I'll put up something in the Members' Ride threads sometime soon, but to those who've seen it can already quote what the interior is like.

"OK, imagine if you got a shooter's licence and a cull limit, wandered into Sesame Street and bagged a few "Elmo's". That's what the colour of the carpet in the car looks like".

Mate, I saw these things zooming around NZ (not the GDi's or the ST-R's though) and there's just something about "Twin-Turbo V6 AWD" that just rolls off the tongue.

I'm one of the moderators on OZVR4 and it's good to see some of you already come over to visit!

Having met Dre (CLuTZ) a few times already, it was great to wander around saying "g'day" since I didn't really know anyone.

If you saw a guy with bandanna, aviator shades, RalliArt crew shirt and a big grin on today's Christmas Cruise, then you know that I ain't a quiet/shy wallflower either.

Name's Gavin... pleased to meet you.

Cheers!

You mean this? :D

-Taken by me, but photo hosted courtesy of www.esemte.com ... some wicked pics and great photographer!

...incidentally, if you're a member of the RACV then the photo should look awfully familiar!

Your car looks so aggressive in the rear view mirror! Silver makes Leggies look so much more modern too!

Thanx Dre :p

I do get that quite a bit. In fact, at our last "Twisties" cruise in June 2009 going from Briar Hill to Narbethong and back (Victoria), this photo was captured by one of Mookers' (ozvr4) mate.

More photos of that cruise here @ http://www.haey.com/ozvr4/20090621/

Four months after the bushfires at that stage... :(

You will need a screen wider than 1600 pixels for this one

The freaky thing about this when this pic was taken.

Absolute silence.

No leaves or undergrowth for the wind to rustle. Not a single sound of a bird or animal. Nothing.

Hey Gavin, welcome aboard mate. Nice car too - I've always wanted a Leggy - should have got one a few yeas back.

G'Day p3akin,

It's my surname and although born in Singapore, it's a mixed background.

Came over here when I was about five years old (with an American/Pom accent)... parents blame a mix of a LOT of TV and hearing a lot of accents on the base. The ol' man used to jump outta planes for Army for a living ;)

Man.. thats a beautiful car made more beautiful by some tricky photography :D Niiiiiiice.

Muchos Gracias DoomMachine, I was gunning for an entry to the OZVR4 2010 calendar and this was one of the 12 winning entries. It also ended up on MCA's (Mitsubishi Club Australia) 2010 calendar as well.

I'm in this weird position with y'all here @ Team4G where I have met some of you by name but not by the tags.

Ah well, we all had to start somewhere ;)

Gav, nice to meet you yesterday mate.

My name is Barry with the old school Galant (silver one)

Awesome photos mate!

The Mrs wouldn't mind a Leggy for a family car!
I'm not arguing!

*heh* Yeah I was leaning towards a Legnum... my "fanboi" moment is always racing the Legnum or just taking it for a spin on the PS-2's "Gran Turismo 4".

Barry, was good to meet you too. "E39A" was yours, right? :D

This is now my third station wagon/estate and at one stage, it was going to be a WRX wagon (too little) or an AWD magna (too ponderous) or even *gasp* waiting how a VE wagon would turn out.

Not. One. Single. Regret.

It's not a Wagon... it's a Ute with a Lid!

JayRome, I saw your car in the flesh @ Docklands and I take it that the running gag on Team4G is your car will "never be finished!"?

I definitely see the potential though :)

Welcom

Welcome aboard Gav,

Seems your car may even make the Team4g Calendar at this stage.

It was great to have you along your help on the day of the Xmas cruise was great. You could of just gone with the group but you choose to bring up the rear and help everyone out with directions and comms.

Hope you keep posting your humor and fun attitude is welcomed. Hope to see more of you mate!

Yep Jonson, Bob saw me at the Ceres (C111) turn-off doing the whole traffic cop hand-signals and on-the-30-second broadcast on the radios just in case people overshot or were approaching the intersection.

It was actually fun at the back, perving on the machinery that unfolded before me on the winding tarmac though!
