if the CE light is on, check the fault codes and the ecu WILL TELL YOU which sensor it's not happy with.

www.vfaq.com has instructions for how to check fault codes, and what they mean.

tbh i cant find the fault codes

This could well be the cause of the problem (one of the coolant temp sensors on the thermostat housing will stop the car from starting at all if it's not connected).

GSRONP - most people use a datalogger which tells them the fault straight up, but you can also check the fault code using a 12V (actually it might be 5V I can't remember) LED test light or DVM with bargraph etc.
When the CEL is on, the ECU sends out long and short 12V pulses, sorta like morse code. haha
There's a table on the internet somewhere (LOL!! ) that decodes these for you to tell you whats up. Sorry I can't find it atm.

and if all else fails find someone witha diagnostic scanner is u can find a list of fault codes and use the data logger too get the code out then refer too the list of codes and then thats your code

scanner can be alot quicker because you plug in and it tells you whats up
