Got a new twin plate Competition Clutch kit. I'll install it the next time I do a drivetrain change with the doggy 4th gearbox, Shep transfer case and a beefed up driveshaft with larger yoke.

My current Fidanza flywheel and Spec Stage4+ clutch kit is fine. It's only done 5,000kms and a few runs down the track, but I know with the power the car will be making in the not too distant future that I'm going to need to shift at over 8k rpm lol

Something wrong with editing this post. It attaches the pics but cannot open them.

Will try a clean post.

OK, I sold the Haltech E8 ECU and FIC injectors in preparation for the next stage of the project = FLEXFUEL! I want to run on both 98 pump and E85 fuels, or a mixture of both at once.

First on the list was some bigger injectors. After picking some people's brains I bought some Bosche Indy Blue 1600's. It was either them or the more expensive SIEMENS 2400cc injectors, but they are way too pricey at the moment.

Plus it looks like we have to bore our aftermarket fuel rails bigger to fit them as they have 14mm tops, instead of our oem 11mm tops.

Err... should have done a bit more homework before impulse buying the Bosches. Im going to resell them and look for a decent 11mm diameter injector.

instead of boring the rail, you can machine the injectors.

old school Indy blues..
let me know how you go..

You have to look at the coil and valve setup. The higher the current requured to drive the injector the more delayed the response will usually be to fine changes. The bosch ev series are great but not a true e85 injector as they are a gas injector. The top injector at the moment are the seimens ones as they are a true pertol 2400 injector. But expensive.

Ecu will play a massive part in it.

If I were to give you advice on your setup I would do the below:
1. Provision for a method to flush your injectors and cylinders with 98 petrol. Due to your car being a weekend car, the e85 crap will cause gunking problems to your rings and injevtor tips.
2. Do this possibly by have a switch over valve to a mini tank for the car to run for 30 seconds on 98.
3. Or have a fitting installed and capped at your fuel rail inlet.

E85 has been a true pain for me becuase I barely drive my car and although I start her up one a week the amount of fuel needed to start kill the oil with the unburnt fuel while cranking.

Thats why I'm using the zeitronix flexfuel kit Baz.

It'll have 98 pump in it for most of the time and E85 only for play days a few times a year. I want to be able to monitor the 'watered down' ethanol content in the tank with the zeitronix gauge.

Honesty, for the street my engine makes good power as it is on 98 octane. But I will have the flexibility of using E85 when desired to add some extra ponies for the strip etc.

Then I'll be throwing 98 in it immediately after the track to flush the system on the way back home. We're talking about over a 100kmh trip from WSID to get back home too! lol.

I cant ever see 100% E85 fuel ever being left in the tank for too long as Im in the same boat as you. I rarely drive the car.

He will only be running e85 at events, there's no e85 servos near his place so he will be on 98 majority of the time

I've left E85 in my tank and system for up to 4 months and had no issues.  I wouldn't be too concerned about having it sit there for prolonged periods of time based on my experience.

My Haltech PS1000 arrived today

Still have to do some saving and spending $$ on a few more things before going for a flexfuel tune.

The big ticket item is at least out of the way now  :D

Bloody hell Baz, that other one was there for the buying!!  :o

I'm surprised you didn't get it.

The Shep transfers have upgraded internal gears and shaft.

The Boostin' Performance transfers have an upgraded shaft only I believe  http://shop.boostinp...se-upgraded.htm

Magnus make a high strength cover to replace the weak cast iron one if you're blowing the internals out sideways: http://magnusmotorsp...-bearing-cover/

Other than that I don't think there's much to choose from out there apart from a Frontline Fabrication transfer case brace, which incorporates a strong cover in the design to replace the cast iron cover too: http://frontlinefabr...fer-case-brace/

PS: Added some pics to frustrate you. You envy my shaft don't you? lol
