I personally like the colour coded bonnet if you went the blue.

If you wanted to change colour, I'm always a fan of silver/gun metal =)

lol... well Ive got a couple of weeks to choose a colour. Ive always liked the gunmetal grey myself but have to be 100% certain and not change my mind

In the meantime a new addition to the car arrived in the mail today - a Tial 46mm external wastegate.
Before anybody asks, the steampipe manifold Im running was specifically made for the Tial 46mm 4-bolt flange (which was before the v-band series were released)

go for acrylic, non metallic. something easy to match and touchup. old school

my panel beater reckons the grey/silver are hardest to match. and they are the worst to see in shitty weather

Little bit more work done over the last few days...
Whilst replacing the GSR copper core radiator with a new lighter and thinner alloy radiator, I decided to also fit a thicker Evo 1-3 heater core as well (had to make a larger hole in the airbox to fit it = piss easy).
I also called in a couple of favours with some friends and had these babies whipped up - marine grade stainless steel heater core pipes to replace the crappy and weak plastic ones
They were made 20-25mm longer than the stockies too which makes them a lot easier to access in the engine bay

my proton has copper pipes through the firewall for the heater. maybe that is a replacement option

Jack - I investigated the Proton heater core and pipes before on an M21 I wrecked. Unfortunately they dont match the CC Lancer cores as they are different shape and size So in the spirit of modding and reliability I said 'fuk it', had some made instead before putting the dash back in

The fkn painter I had lined up got a visit by the Real Estate, Council and Police for painting cars in his garage setup with 2-pak paint Thats thrown my paintjob back a few weeks now til I find another painter
I was keen to have it done so I could make it to the WSID Powercruise on Dec 4, but hey, its just another setback... it isnt the end of the world (that will happen in December 2012 apparently lol )

Cool got another order of transmission parts in yesterday - this time from TMZ Performance.
Only took 2 weeks via USPS to get here
Here's a pic of some of Chases EVO 1 parts and some of my EVO III parts, minus all the new bearings we bought in our last order

They are actually quite comparable and much of a muchness. Some things are slightly cheaper, some things are slightly dearer than Jacks.
Postage only cost us $70 for all the above via USPS including tracking and insurance and it took 2 weeks.
Best of all the parts from TMZ, even the gears and hub/sliders Ive purchased from him in the past, all come in the OEM original packaging!!
Tim communicates effectively and goes out of his way to order parts in from elsewhere if he doesnt have it in stock - nicest guy ever too!

Well, my first painter fell through (he had a visit from the Council and they shut him down ) therefore I had to find another one.
Its gonna cost me about $1000 more than the first guy but at least I know its in a shop and going to be done properly. Its the same painter that painted Angelo's green GSR and I reckon his car turned out awesome
The coupe got delivered yesterday and should be finished in about 2 weeks time

lol... I know you guys like grey, its a hot colour IMO too, but it'll look plain as all fuk on these cars unfortunately
