Sweet... put the GTX3076R together Friday night with Mik-e. Just waiting on a new T3 flange SS crush gasket to come in before mounting it (No way Im going to reuse the same SS turbo flange gasket once it has been crushed).
This turbo looks smaller than my old turbo as far as the compressor side goes (0.6A/R vs the old GT3082's 0.7A/R), but further info gained from the wider use of these turbos the past year reckon that the billet compressor wheel with the anti-surge compressor cover will come on boost quicker, make more useable power throughout the entire rev range, plus the billet wheel will flow more up top too Gotta love newer turbo technology
The rear housing is my existing 0.82 which has been HPC coated so I didnt need to swap it out. It's going to bolt up to my existing exhaust and wastegate etc in exactly the same way as it did when it had the larger turbo on.
Im also planning to upgrade the 4AN turbo oil feed line. The one I have is already teflon internal with braided hose but I cant fit an oil filter on it as its a one piece unit. Therefore the new one I'll get will have different fittings so I can install an oil filter between the head banjo and the 1mm oil restrictor in the BB turbo centre cartridge. Will show you guys pics when it comes in

Well done guys. You'll love the GTX3076R Rob, I'm using one on my coupe and it's certainly capable of delivering a lot of useable power and torque over a great rpm range.
In regards to your oil feed line - I've got a -4AN teflon braided line that I made up with speedflow hose and fittings - in regards to an inline filter I used an AEM unit that is really compact and gives you 3 mesh filter options to pick from and install.

I looked at the FP unit (bloody expensive) and also the Earls 230204ERL (to match my existing earls gear and earls fuel filter lol - same as what Baz is running), but they are quite long and I'ld still need to buy another adapter yet again to screw my banjo fitting into.
I called Rocket Industries to buy the Earls filter but they said they dont stock it anymore and instead list this one below which has been a popular choice http://www.aeroflowp...g/index/filters . So I ended up getting one of these instead which has a male fitting on one end and a choice of either a male or female on the other end which is good to screw the banjo into. It also comes with 3 different filters - the 80 micron seems to be the choice for an inline oil feed to a BB turbo using a 1mm restrictor.
Because this filter is compact and I dont drive the car often (less than 2,000kms a year) I'll only need to be cleaning the filter out every 12 months.

That's the unit I'm running - I incorrectly said "AEM" when I should have said "Aeroflow". DOH.
Great little oil filter.
Not much to see in regards to the oil line Mike, it's fully covered in a heat-sleeve.
I'm running a -4AN tapered male fitting off the head into a -4AN 90deg (female/female inlet/outlet) into which the oil filter is fitted, then a length of -4AN with a female straight fitting at the filter and a-4AN 90deg to the tapered male fitting at the turbo.

Here you go Shayne, the new oil feed line and filter, plus an 8AN oil return drain line to the sump. Plus couple more bits.
Oil line goes to the 90 degree fitting then to a 1mm restrictor Ive got screwed into the turbo's centre cartridge

cheers mate. yeah no more fukn around with bolting the turbo return flanges on and off when removing turbo.
Im going to put one of them earls orange heat sleeves over the top of that return line to keep some of that exhaust temp away.

Going to try something a little different this time with the drivetrain lubricants http://www.4gtuner.c..._DIR#/smile.png
Teamrip, Jacks Transmissions amongst several others recommend:
Redline MT-90 (75W90 GL4) for the manual transmission http://www.redlineoi...x?pid=46&pcid=7
Redline 80W140 GL5 for the transfer case and rear diff for the most part (has friction modifiers for the rear mech LSD) http://www.redlineoi...x?pid=37&pcid=4
Figured if they recommend it that its worth trying. Found an Aussie supplier and am going to give it a go as an alternative to the Castrol VMX-M etc oils I've tried. (Neil, this is probably what you need to use too for smoother shifts).
I didnt get the heavyweight oil for the rear diff for now as they say it'll grab like a mofo but it will make it much noisier (cant have your cake and eat it too I suppose lol ) http://www.4gtuner.c..._DIR#/laugh.png
(Note: Did a bit of reading up and the boys that live in the colder climates of the US usually mix their tansmission oil up as 2 parts Redline MT-90, and 1 part Redline MTL to alleviate the notchiness at cold operating temps. Otherwise, straight MT-90 is good on its own. Here's specs: http://www.redlineoi...Tech%20Info.pdf )

Am interested to hear what your thoughts are on the Redline stuff Rob. I'm looking to change from the Castrol Syntrax to Redline Lightweight shockproof in the Coupe. I was starting to get a few crunchy shifts happening at Winton after a few hard laps.

Nice, Redline is good stuff. I use heavyweight shockproof in the transfercase myself, will be going for MT90 for the 'box too.

Jack says the OEM 2005 EVO MR (6 speed) oil is the best and if you cant get it use Redline MT-90 as it works just as well.
Here's a really good read about oils to use in DSM/EVO that has been recently updated with their website upgrade: http://www.jackstran...s.com/pages/oil
As long as you guys dont use any of the Redline Shockproof oil in your gearboxes!!!! Its not intended for gearbox use and I hated the stuff when I pulled a guys gearbox down for repair as it snotted up everything and kills synchros!
