Well, bit of an update. She's back, she's mad and she fkn sounds sweet. The engineer wouldnt pass it without the timing cover on it naturally so I got another stock bonnet and had a guy beat a hump into it 'Eclipse' style. The thing is pure metal with a mild skim of filler to take out any imperfections. The under brace that fouled on the timing cover has since been removed too. It now closes and its now time for the home stretch in engineering

More of the fact that he couldnt close the bonnet down fully unless he had the timing case off

Im gettin the same thing soon but retaining my EVO side vent, i havnt yet seen it in person but in the pics it looks AWESOME

I think so, depends on the overall way the new front bar gets painted up with blue and black and whether the paint lines will progress onto the bonnet too. Ive done up a few paint schemes so will see what happens when the time comes

Just a little bit of an update boys. The car passed the exhaust noise test yesterday with 88db @ 4300rpm - Woohoo! [love the Varex - cough]

Drove 20km odd to and from the noise testing venue in a 100kmh zone so I had a good 40km worth of 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear pulls and decelleration to get the rings bed in . When I got home I dumped the oil and changed the filter. I also dumped the oil out the rear diff and put some new stuff in as well. It's my first real drive of the car on the street in 8.5 years! . I had to have a Letter of Intent to drive the car unregistered to and from the venue as it was getting tests done for the purposes of registration.

I installed the Whiteline caser/anti-lift bushes today to finally complete the suspenion upgrade so I've booked it in for a front and rear wheel alignment on Saturday.

This is how it looks at the moment... the front bar is only on there to get it engineered and registered then after that my other front bar will be painted and put on. It's going to completely change the look of the front end - cant wait

Baz, Baz, Baz... its an EVO 4 front bar I bought back in 2000 lol. Its a bit 'old school' by today's standards and the slimline foglights I have dont fit in anyway because of the icoola piping. It will do for rego and getting it on the road though

The new bar I have is a whole new look that no one else has in Australia (as far as I know) as I imported a bar from Malaysia and had to modify it a bit to suit. Then I had a mould made up from it incase I ever damage it and want another one made. I own the mould of the new bar, its sitting in my garage

Anyhow, thats just cosmetic stuff. I'd love to show you guys some pics of the rest of the car and the work done to it at some stage.

8 years off the road and living in the garage... and thankfully no sign of roof rust Im not taking any chances so I used some special sealant and then finished it off with tectly spray. I tried to remove the ribs from the skin to get under it but the damn thing was stuck on good. Will make it an annual ritual to check for roof rust once its on the road.
