Finally had the coupe tuned yesterday and Im impressed
I went out with Hitman and held the laptop whilst he drove and road tuned it... well you could call them roads as they were good enough for 3rd and 4th gear pulls all the way to 8200rpm
I cant credit Matt's genious enough. The guy can literally drive and tap away at the keyboard with just an ocassional glance at the screen and wideband monitor with some feedback from me now and then.
Engine ran solid with no leaks, no missfires, no fuelling issues, no hoses blowing off etc.. and the only problem we had was overcooking the O2 sensor It simply couldnt handle the heat off the back of the dump. The ECU was showing its mV being a bit erratic so we turned the O2 off and continued tuning with the wideband. At the end of the day Matt altered the settings in the Haltech ready for me to buy and hook up a wideband a little further down the dump then click a box in the software and be done with it.
Got 23psi from the road tune and set the rev limit at 8200rpm. Max boost was around 5500rpm and it seemed like it wanted to keep pulling right through to redline even though it felt quite linear in delivery with the big snail on it. Time was a limiting factor as we had to settle for a basic road tune and leave the dyno for another day. Right now Im enjoying what feels like a 12 second car at this stage

A little message to my T4G friends:
To all the boys who know what its like to live, breathe and pour your heart and soul into a project car, then watch the months turn into years as they pass in the blink of an eye, please dont ever lose sight of your goals. I know what its like to lose hope, to lose direction and to lose faith in your own ability; But believe me the tug-of-war between building your car and the decisions you have to face in life along the way (house, kids, etc) is not worth the regret of not following through with your dreams. There IS a light at the end of the tunnel and you owe it to yourself, with focus and determination, to push through and reach each personal goal one step at a time. The reward when looking back at your own personal journey/achievement/development is bliss that you will take with you til your dieing day Right now I'm sitting back content that 'I finally did it'.... and that my friends is a feeling I cant describe
Rob

When I get my good gearbox built I'll have the longer 1st and 2nd gears in it from an Evo 1 so I would have more time to catch the rev limiter after launching lol
Here's a couple of pics

Ok some more goodies have been obtained in the meantime and will post pics. Most recently some EVO I-III BC Racing inverted coilovers with 32-way dampening . I havent seen any detailed photos of the coilovers anywhere on the net therefore Im posting some up to show the quality of their manufacture = great!!
More to come...

Umm, also got new silicon radiator and ASH wire reinforced heater hoses which were fitted due to not trusting the old rubber units. I had an incident over Summer when one of the heater hoses split (due to its age and sitting around for a long time I guess). None of the water hoses in the car are rubber anymore
Also added a Pioneer stereo, AEM wideband controller, Gloshift digital oil pressure and oil temp gauges (all fit into a triple DIN holder), VMS forged alloy wheel nuts and of course the new Mitsu genuine leather weighted gear knob from the group buy thread . It never stops does it? Little by little, Im getting more and more pleased with it and excited to take it out for a drive. Still havent got it dyno tuned yet but the latest editions were a bit higher on my priority list

If the BC's didnt come up for sale when they did (I bought them off Paul as he only bolted them to his project car but never got the project going) I would have definitely bought the DGR's. Actually the day I was going to buy the DGR's the BC's came up for sale for $1000 so I was able to grab them immediately from him lol.
I also would have been happy with DGR suspension as they are making a great name for themselves since commencing manufacture in 2010. Reviews Ive read have been favourable in competition circles, especially drifting and light track work. RRP is around $1200-$1300 in the shops but the cheapest supplier I found DGR's for sale ANYWHERE was for around $800AU delivered saving hundreds off the RRP AND you can choose your own spring and matched valve rates AND they have a great warranty! Here is the link to the cheapest supplier of them: http://www.phatboybr...ension-Kits.php . Price is only 529 British pounds including delivery to Oceanea (Australia). That's a measly $800AU delivered - you cant beat that kind of value for the product you get in return. We're not talking about high-end competition use suspension and thousands of dollars here, but some decent mid range suspension at an affordable price that will put a smile on your face on the street and on the track. I anticipate that as soon as their name becomes more popular the prices will go up. Other shops are already selling them for around $1200+. I had communications with the supplier at Phatboy and yes, the price is legit and he has EVO I-III coilovers in stock!!

Ive had this Cusco MZ front mech LSD sitting around that I've been itching to post up a pic of to make some of you jealous.... so without further adieu, here it is....
Na, this baby is going into the hybrid gearbox Im building that will ultimately make its way into the coupe one day.
Not long to go now and the parts should be ready to go for shotpeening and ISF refinishing before final assembly

Who threw the coilovers in your car Rob?
His 2x sons? His wife? The guy next door? The guy across the road?
I give up Mike!! WHO threw them in!?!?!? TELL ME!!!!
PS - I would hope they were carefully installed instead of just being 'thrown' in...!

Nah just thrown it, didn't touch the spring load, only adjusted the base high to be the same as the old coilovers
Good enough to drive to a suspension place and get them to adjust it to his specs etc
