Thats tempting (Having Bank issues as the EVO VI is NOT on redbook, but the GTO is, lol)

also something to note that the aust delivered gto's are usually mroe expensive.
and i wouldnt buy a car solely on kms done as i dont believe most of the jap cars have true km's to start of with.

I fail to see where the arguments in this thread hold any bearing whatsoever.
OMG THE E6 WILL PWNZOR THE GTO ON A TRACK -> Er, guys? Apart from rob, who actually races their car on a track? Like ever? Hands up, dragstrips don't count.
OMG PARTS ARE HARD TO FIND -> Like any mitsubishi? Been looking for vr4 parts recently? How about genuine early evo bits? The ONLY super expensive GTO part is the 5speed gearbox, the 6speed shares parts with a JZA80 supra. You blow a 5speed and you need to remortgage. (I know of at least 3 11k gearbox rebuilds requiring custom bits from hollinger you just couldn't buy for love nor money anymore)
OMG GTO IS FAT -> GTO is CLEARLY a cruiser. the E6 is a bone jarringly firm racecar with rego plates. Different cars, different purpose.
OMG GTO FUEL HOG -> 3litre twin turbo quadcam 6 vs a 4banger. OF COURSE iT'S GOING TO USE MORE FUEL
And heads up guys, the GTO looks -way- cooler. It's basically a 4wd f360.
yes, GTO's have some issues, but so do e6's. At the end of the day the way troy drives he's going to break shit on both cars, but i know he's kind on his gearboxes and frankly, i think the big 6 will suit him better because he's nowhere near as aggressive as he used to be. I think i'ev been in the car wth him more than the lot of you put together too. esp, in anger.
Troy, go get your dream car mate. You won't be happy with other options, we've had this discussion over and over again for the last 4 years.

The 4G63 motor code is street shorthand for dominance. It's automotive Darwinism.

Well said Lorry,
5 years ago, I said I'll have a GTO one day....
I still think of owning one... but knowing me, I'll spend to much money and time on it and try and make it run 10's... that would be cool though....

Close this thread, i have bought a EVO VI, and will be picked up Monday/Tuesday.
I feel this is my best choice, sure a GTO would be cool to drive around in, but i WILL get sick if the handeling, and everyone says they are reliable, until you go for more power.
I can drive the EVO in anger (i have only slowed down, to save from over driving the VR4).
I am not ready for a cruiser car, still have my fun life to live. Sure the GTO will be very old, next time i look at them, but something else will tug my strings by then anyway

GTO's are slugs. They designed for dudes who have just come out of a 20 year relationship, and the missus kept the kids so you only need a 2 seater.

I just can't decide - i'd just have to buy both...
- Evo enhanced Cordia (400 hp track weapon)
- Evo VI (weekend cruiser)
- Evo VI (weekend cruiser)
