Nice and quiet while cruising 2-4K, but has a nice bark from 4500+, no annoying resonance either. Havent connected the wiring up yet so cant comment on the noice levels with the valve closed.
Wow, with 430hp atw and being nice and quiet at 2-4000rpm fully open the oval units must be way better at keeping things quiet than the cannons. Is there any way you can upload a video to youtube or anything?
Here's mine with the cannon Varex fully open indoors and outdoors http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=ucKizojWcRs . I have a mild steel 3" dumpipe off the back of the garrett turbo up to the 3" Catco ceramic cat. From there back its 3" Stainless.
330kw atw @ 28psi 98 pump fuel.
372kw atw @ 28psi E85 Flexfuel.

So open they are basicly a strait through when the valve is open.
Gasses only go through the baffeling when the valve is closed.
So how would the oval be quieter than the cannon when open?

Jacob just did it, read couple posts uphas anyone fitted the oval muffler to a cc/cd/ce sedan yet? i've heard the cannons in person and the they don't baffle as well as i'd hoped.

The two cannon ones ive looked at, in the middle have a solid pipe with one hole before the valve and one after, flow then is forced through the baffling, normally it would act like a strait pipe as its the least restrictive. So with the valve open i'd think the bigger oval shape wouldnt make a differnce as its flowing strait out and hasnt got the mesh lining like a normal strait through cannon or oval muffler. The flow isnt exposed to the baffling like it would be in a normal cannon.
For example heres 2 pics of up a cannon style one.

When open (on the race track etc) it sounds awesome. No drone, no rasp- just pure 4G63 goodness. Highly recommended!

oval or cannon Dre?
Come on mate!!!! Oval of course!!
Single tip. Looks sweet- the only thing I dont like about it, is that it has 'VAREX' on the top of the tip- wouldnt mind getting TRIKFAB to tack on one of this stainless badges over it
