I too am debating whether or not to get a 3" oval or cannon style varex.

Does anybody have any pictures of the oval on a galant?

Also, does anybody know how much quieter the oval or twin tip exhaust is compared to the cannon. Since i dont want it too quiet when open.. but not too loud either lol.

When the cannon style are open they are louder than a normal cannon! Its a strait pipe when open, the only openings to sound deadening are the two holes the gasses pass through when its closed.
99% home built for a life time warranty. Engine now needing repair under 'warranty'

Mine works like a resonator when open, the walls are definitely not straight pipe.

I had a normal Xforce cannon for about 6 months before I swapped it for the Varex (cannon). To be honest, with the valve open the Varex sounds exactly the same as the old cannon did. Definitely no louder.

Yours must be different to mine. I've had mine about 1.5 years, when did you get yours?

Ohh yea! and let’s not forget the 5 year warranty they come with. Just another reason to buy one.

where's the best place to get one? may have to invest in a twin tip in the not-too-distant future.

I got mine from an Xforce dealer in Nunawading called auto xcess. Paid around the $400 mark about 1.5 years ago. Since I got mine Auto xcess has moved to Newlands road in Reservoir. They are listed on the Xforce website as a dealer. Don’t know if the name of the worshop has changed though

Just got off the phone with the them, and they quoted $360 for the cannon style and $460 for the oval muffler. That is just the muffler alone. It was $550 including installation for the cannon from them. And Yeah (trq-str), its comes with a fantastic 5 year warranty.

I don’t care much about the warranty, but it is there.
If mine was to stuff up and they didn’t do anything about it, I would quite gladly fork out $400 for another one. As having the Varex has probably saved me in excess of what the Varex is worth in bullshit fines which I would have got from not having it.

BTW, Shannon your a knob..Dot
