Had a chat with the engine builder and he believes the drive train loss will be about 20%. That is a lot lower then I expected.

Should only be a couple of weeks away now.

20% for fwd or rwd, but I bet it will be alot more for awd.
Your typical early wrx with 150kw at the fly commonly recorded 90-100kw atw, sti's were up around 140kw atw. That's a tad more than 20%.

good work mate, how did it go on the dyno?

go for gl trims and window regulators if you can as they have the flat trims
which are lighter then the glxi trims.

and if you buy bits separatly make sure all of the stuff is from the same model.

glxi have longer shafts on the regulator than the gl.

It is all run in and they are finalising the tune today. Hopefully it should get around 400Hp mark.

On the engine dyno, do they pull the intercooler on the car out to run that, and run at least the front section of the exhaust?
I cant wait to see what the differences are in drive train loss, as long as what bolted to the motor on the dyno is comparable.

And it'll be interesting to see the dyno graph once its in the car, under real world load in 3rd, see where the power band on the 68hta is.
There's a lot of contradicting info on the net about it. So it will be good to see your results.

In the wheelie bin is a EVO III Intercooler and it is running through the dump into a 3 inch exhaust.

Nope.

The engine has maxed out the injectors at 7000 rpm and 380 Hp.

So I have to decide if I buy injectors and get it re tuned or live with a 7k hard limiter.

what boost level did the 68hta make 380hp at?

(btw i vote more boost, injectors and a tune:P.
plus how high are the duty cycles already? you want a bit of head room if on a cold night it flows more air and you lean out ect. A bit of head room would be good.
I though my evo 8 injectors would get me close to my 400hp goal, looks like they wont if your evo 9's aren't.
They do on the later model motors, they are getting over 220kw atw on them.
Maybe the older ones need more air and fuel to make the same power due to lower VE.

Quite possibly on the injector front I think you are right about protection.

It is making the power 24 from 3k.

OK all done.

415 Hp at 24 psi. It now revs to 8k.

Makes just over 300 lb-ft of torque from 3500 to 7400 rpm.
