GSR aircond to Evo 3 Climate control conversion question

Hi guys,
I did some research but couldn't find exactly what I am looking for. I have this Evo3 digital climate control unit which I wanted to fit it on to my GSR.
I have got a wiring diagram from the local workshop, I connected it up but it doesn't seem to be working. The unit does lit up and I am able to press on buttons and thing but its doesn't seem like the aircond is working.
The aircond system on my GSR was working fine before as well as the climate contol unit which have been tested before removal. So what could have gone wrong here? What I can think of are:
- The wiring diagram is wrong diagram
- I connected it wrong (after checking twice)
- There maybe is some other parts require for the coversion.
- The unit itself might be faulty
I still have plenty of time to mess around with it before I start work again in January so I will give it a try on every possible ways. So, any suggestion guy???

Post up the diagram from the workshop and let us all check it out
Did you get the little motors that go onto the fan boxes to open and close vents, plus the extra sensors for inside centre black fan box, under the dash near the widscreen and outside resistor and air temp sensor?
So many guys get a climate control head unit and try to connect it all up without doing their homework or knowing whats fully involved to make it work and what parts they need for it to function properly. The easiest way to do it is to have used a japspec GSR interior loom that had the climate control in it and change the entire interior loom over. Its piss easy as you're practically 85% there anyway after you remove your console and dash to fit the climate control in
Ive fully removed a climate control loom from a Libero interior loom once and spliced it into a coupe and I tell you what, never again. After doing the whole interior loom conversion and even better engine loom conversion as well, its a simple case of remove existing, install new, plug in and play.

Hmm .. thats explains why it doesn't work. All I have is a climate control unit with 2 extra sensors. I didn't know about the motor to open and close vent but someone did told me aircond will still work with out it (just that you cant open and close vents thats all).
So you reckon changing over the wiring loom will be a better way to go yah? any idea where can I get them from? or does anyone have one laying around and wanting to sell??

I agree 100% with Rob swap out complete looms with manual air con loom and plug and play there are enough frt cuts still only being used for the engine and parts as some cant be assed swapping over the complete looms just for the climate control.
Keep your eyes out as they do pop up from time to time on forums for sales sections or ebay ect.

finding one of those in Perth is as hard as looking for a can of coke in the ocean lol ... took me 16 months to gather engine parts locally as its cost too much to send them from the eastern states ... anyhow, just wiring loom shouldn't be too much for posting so I'll keep looking. If anyone have one please let me know by replying or PM me.
DOUGMO: I'll find out exacty what I have and what I don't have and I'll let you know. Hopefully in this 2-3 days. Thanks

Hey guys I was just reading through this and I've swapped over my dash wiring loom but still cant get the fan to work the vents work fine but i cant get any fan speed Ive checked with a test light and there seems to be no power getting to the fan motor does anyone have an idea what the fault could be ?

Power runs from fuse to fan switch. Then to ballast resister for various speeds (under glovebox and plugged into air vent near fan to keep it cool) then to fan and then earth.
Check for power at the resistor as they can be a pita

I looked at getting an automatic 4g93 dohc loom but price was to much due to ecus being inc. I'd be interested in splitting the setup with you I have a head and controllers but missing sensors etc

So I have a little question, we have a Jap spec GSR but it has the normal aircon control, I think is must have been converted for some reason. The loom has the plug that looks like it fits up to the climate control but still has the other plug that goes to the switch on the aircon unit. Do all the looms have that second plug or does it mean the loom has been swapped out? or do I have a jap spec with normal aircon?

The evo 3 harness I got only has the plugs for the climate control not Standard as well... I would assume that a Jap spec GSR harness would also only have the plugs for climate control...
Does your Jap spec GSR have mirrors that electronically fold in or only normal electric mirrors?
Does it have the rear window wiper ?
Does it have an aerial on the top of the rear left quarter or on drivers front A pillar ?
