take one bbq
one chicken, onion, garlic, salt & pepper and your favorite beer (in a can)
drink half a can of beer, add onion, garlic and salt & pepper to the can.
shove the can up the chicken arse. bbq factory and the like actually sell a "beer can chicken" stand. keeps the fowl from toppling over on the bbq.
cook the bird at around 180deg C
after 90 minutes or so, your bird should look something like this.
i chucked a few french cutlets on for red meat fans.
served with a side of garden, potato salad and some if the beer left over from earlier.
and for desert, bread and butter pudding YUM!
that was the first time i had done beer can chicken, was much better than i envisioned. very moist, with a nice crispy skin. could taste the garlic and a bit of sweetness from the onion.
will deffinatly make this again, how ever i will make two at a time next.
anyone else got any BBQ recipes to share?

I've got a basic yet amazing chicken recipe.
Ingredients:
-Grab some BONELESS chicken thighs (de-skinned) from your butcher or supermach: you will want to grab extra so you can munch some back for lunch the next day
-Jar of crushed ginger
-Bottle of dark soy
Method:
Place chicken in large bowl, add 2x tea spoons of crushed ginger per chicken thigh. Pour soy over ginger and chicken mix, almost covering the entire lot. Use your hands and work the ginger into the thighs.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 3-4 hours.
Cook on BBQ until tender
Serve and enjoy with your favourite salads (mine are green and potato) some BBQ'd cevapcici's, onions and corn on the cob.

that sounds bloody good dre,
will give that a shot tomorrow night
doooo it- its MEAN! I had it for lunch yesterday!
also, try my potato salad!
Ingredients:
-Desiree potatoes. The pink ones. (I get the small ones- heaps easier to cut up) get 2-3 per person (which will leave you more for lunch again the next day)
-Grated tasty cheese
-Whole seeded mustard (1 table spoon per 3 small potatoes)
-Bestfoods Mayo (ONLY that brand!!!)
-Spring onions (chopped)
Method:
Bring a medium to large pot of water to the boil. Cut up potatoes into bite sized pieces, and boil until the biggest pieces fall off a fork easily.
Drain, and place into large bowl. Season. Add handful of tasty cheese. Stir. Let stand for a few mins to cool.
Add mustard, mayo and chopped spring onions. Stir. Dont add too much mayo at the start- if you feel like you need more, then go ahead and add some.
Garnish with rest of spring onions, and serve......
Enjoy!

You can get it pre marinated from the supermarket and it's awesome on the barbie with a good side salad.
I drink my beer a quarter pint at a time, and for those 2 seconds or less, I'm free!

just had that for dinner, albeit slightly modded
i used boneless chicken thighs (was on special), with powder ginger.
was bloody nice, im not really a fan of chicken on the BBQ. i thought i might have put too much ginger on them, but after having them, i dont think you could put too much on, especially if your using the powder stuff.
im sure i've had that recipe before somewhere though. cant put my finger on it though.
gave that potato salad a whirl, didnt have the pink potatos, no seeded mustard sauce. so we just used normal potato's with this really random kalamatta mustard i brought in handorf Adelaide
will deffinatly have the chicken again, and it is fricken easy to prep
