Im selling a 4g61 engine out of my old 1990 cb gsr lancer on ebay and a guy has asked me this question....
"hi could yu please help. will this fit in a16v 2litre 1989 galant"
I responded with...
"Im not sure. From memory the galant you are talking about comes from the factory with an NA 4G63, is this correct? if so it shouldn't be too hard, i believe you only need to modify the passenger side engine mount. It would be best to find out for sure though. I'll check with the guys on my car forum and get back to you. Cheers"
so if any one can help me out it would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Glen

Yeah thats what i was thinking, if his car did have a NA DOHC 4G63, then these have been put into cb's for ages so the reverse would have to work.
Good point about the ecu, ive got my old ecu but not the loom.
Can any one confirm which engine his car car from the factory with??

he seems to be going in the opposite direction to most engine swaps... reducing power!!!
Maybe his engine died and he wants a cheap motor??

I'll basically tell him that it will fit, but will need to modify one of the mounts and he'll most likely need my ecu and find some loom.
or in other words...
DONT FREAKIN BOTHER AND BUY ANOTHER 63 BETTER YET A 63T

Hey guys, does a 4G61 gearbox bolt onto a 4G93t nicely...or not at all?
Thanks!
Wes
I'd use a W5M33 gearbox if I were you
