Hi all,

As of tuesday I picked up my 94 EVO II

At this stage it only has a couple of basic mods

From what I know so far...

Pod Filter
Custom Dump Pipe
3" Exhaust front to rear with Turbosmart Cannon
Boost Controller
D2 Coil Overs
17" Chrome Rims
Supposed New Clutch
Turbosmart Plumb Back BOV

Repairs to be done

Rear Lower, Mid and Upper Control Arms all on there way
Top Engine Mount to be replaced
Recaro's to be retrimmed and repadded
Bushes to be replaced in shifter
Window Regulator for Rear Passenger Door
Window Regulator for Drivers Door (still works but getting sticky)

I'm sure other things will come up

I only have a few pics so far

Here are some crappy phone pics of the little EVO 2 I now have.

Before anyone says anything Yes the Chrome is going

I think I may have found what the vibration was in the back of the car and what flogged out the rear control arms

Posted Image

After sorting out the rear lights I noticed that the front top engine mount is brocken so that is another thing to the list

I removed some ricer stickers and cleaned the dash

That's the amount of dust removed from just the dash

I started to detail the EVO tonight

First off I tried some Autoglym paint rejuvenator which didn't help

Second I tried some Meguarers Paint cleaner which didn't help

Third I pulled out the clay block and i did the part from the edge of the start of the buldge and this is what i got off the first little strip. That same strip had already copped the 2 previous hits first.

Here is how good the paintwork is

Some more pics of what the clay block has taken out of the bonnet.

More cleaning, i finally got the bonnet and front bar clay blocked. The previous owner also decided the mitsubishi logo should be gold :?

Whilst I was going I realigned the front guards and bonnet.

That's it for tonight

Nice work Dion!

Get that tyre replaced( its a blow out waiting to happen) and get the control arms sorted then a 4 wheel alignment and she'll be apples:)

Where do you get that clay from and whats the theory behind using them? Tech wise.....

There has been yet another set back

I took the car up to the wheel shop this morning to get that tyre replaced on the back

After they attempted to remove the old tyre the chrome is peeling away all through the interior of the wheel but the worst would have to be that the rim is that badly buckled that even if i did put a new tyre on it the exact same thing would happen. Also there has was a leak in a front tyre and it would appear that there is a very small crack in the rim.

So now I'm on the look out for either some factory steel rims or even some nissan steel rims. These will only be temporary.

Yeah it sucks when previous owners dont look after cars and dont conduct regular maintenance. At least that EVO II is getting pampered now and a whole new lease on life with you as its new owner :) Should end up being a prime example once you're finished with it Dion :)

Time to get some OEM front bar mesh to finish her off, alloy mesh always looks like pooo on eveo's and just cheapens the whole look :)

Thanks John I didn't even release it was non factory mesh on there.

I have been donated a set of 15" rims off an early model magna I beleive. They will have to do for the time being as I want to focus on getting everything else perfect then I will rectify the wheels issue then.

I want to focus on getting the car 100% again like it deserves so at this stage I only want to throw some 15" steel rims under it and look at some volk/works/rays rims for it later. I'm thinking low offset deep dish rims under it with a max diameter of 16" so I don't want to be pressured into buying rims just for the sake of it as such.

I did some more work on it tonight, I clay blocked the roof and then moved to the boot lid. To clean it properly I removed the wing to find two small rust areas. These are not to bad so I put on some rust convertor which i will coat it all again tomorrow and keep a close eye on it. If it returns I will find another boot lid. When I opened the boot I found that the rubber seal had popped off on one corner because someone had bent where the rubber clips on so i fixed where the rubber clips on and removed all carpets, boot surrounds, spare etc to find some more surface rust in the bottom of the boot so i set up a fan to dry this out so i can do the whole boot with rust convertor.

Anyway enough of me dribbling crap again and here are the pics :D

Getting there slowly
