I did some further servicing tonight

I dropped the oil out of the rear diff and transfer case

The follow pics show how badly once again this poor little EVO has not been taken care of.

Rear Diff Oil

*Jet Black
* Very badly burnt
* Refill Plug needs to be replaced as previous owner had used vice grips by the look of it to tighten it up

Transfer Case

* Oil was a very runny light brown oil
* Appeared to have water in the oil
* Badly burnt but not as bad as the rear diff

Gear Box

* Refill bolt needs to be replaced as it looks like it has been tighened up with a rattle gun. I had to swing off it with a 4 foot cracker bar to undo it
* Drain plug is stuffed. I couldn't even get it off so it's off to the workshop tomorrow to get it removed and replaced.

I took the car for a drive after doing the rear diff and transfer case to find that it feels a lot better than it did. I can't wait to get some new oil into the gearbox as well now.

I will drop all the oils again in about 4 weeks to be sure that it's all good

Anyway here are the photo's

Thanks for the comments everyone.

It is actually an EVO 2 but for what ever reason the front lip had been ripped off it, the screws where all still in the bar when i got it.

I'm going to get the battery box, power cables and switch to move the battery to the boot.

I'm currently having issues with water getting dumped on my Blitz Pod due to the bonnet vent just above it :(
I'm moving the battery to the boot and relocating the pod to behind the headlight. It will be a simlar setup to my old CE

but the EVO will get a full stainless air box made whilst I'm going. (I already have the stainless in the garage).

Does anyone have any photos of what I'm talking about??

like dan said a E2 lip would finish the front off

and the hood and rear door stickers

those rims suite it nicely, its good that you have saved this car

Hi all, I took the EVO to willowbank tonight and after doing 2 runs i decided to take it home.

I'll be honest and say that i was a little dissapointed how it went but I beleive its due to a fact of shitty tyres and suspension.

Take a look at the following and you will see I raced a 11 sec VL Turbo first which i fkd up the run completely.

Bulk wheel spin off the line the went through the gears 1st to second then to third then to fourth then i tried for fifth but i found 3rd gear. I released immediately i fkd up so i dropped it straight into neutral and coasted across the line.

Second run was against a TME Evo which I beat :) but again the time I thought was crap.

I decided to take it home after that

First Run

Second Run

after watching the video again of the run against the TME I'm concerned about the amount of blue smoke the car pumped out at WOT so I'm not running this car on the track again at this stage.

I test drove the car again today to find that under boost the turbo does not sound the best.

I will be look at all my options and either replacing or upgrading in the near future. If I upgrade the car will also get some new cams, cam springs, late model 3mm high flow lifters, adjustable cam gears, injectors plus some other goodies.
