Hi guys, well I've finally got back into the game, after busting round in a Magna since I sold the Mirage last year.
Picked this up yesterday arvo...
Its a 1995 (96 release) GSR, which has had an EVO 2 engine conversion, and EVO 2 gearbox/driveline conversion.
So far, it feels good, just going to change the fluids on the weekend and go from there.
Needs a few cosmetic things tidied up on it (typical roof rust etc), but mechanically, everything feels/sounds good.
Will get some better pics on the weekend....
Will be getting out to the track as much as i can with this car, its much different to the 4G93T Mirage!
Will be looking for a few bits and pieces as I go.. cant wait!
Cheers guys.

Well I got some new oils for it yesterday and changed the engine oil, gearbox oil and, with some new plugs etc. Will be going the transfer case and rear diff oils today.
So far it seems to be running well. only running 12-13psi at the moment till I make sure everything is fine, then will set the Duel Stage Boost Controller at 12 and 16psi.
A mate took some pics of the GSR on our way up to the Test n Tune last night to watch Dion race his EVO 2....

good stuff mate! how does it feel compared to FWD??
yeh dude it is a very different feel to all my other cars, which have been FWD.
At least with the GSR, I can carry at least some pace through corners, and not fear that i'm going to end up in the bush - like it felt with the Mirage.
got a brand new rear bar for it yesterday, will be getting it painted and replacing the old one thats busted.
after that, i'll get cracking on the rust in the roof. just going to fix it as best we can for the time being and the car might even get a new respray...

There is a post up on evocoupe about the roof rust repairing which will buy you time, but as you would know this is ultimately only a band aid fix. How bad is your rust? Post up some pictures.

yeh i know its only going to band aid the problem, but it will do for the time being i think.
It will at least buy me some time to source a new roof etc, if i decide to keep the car for a while.
I'll get some pics on the weekend of the roof, its pretty bad, we are just going to cut out the rust, and the fill and glass it all up, then repaint it for the time being. hopefully it will look ok for a while.

Well, finally got off my arse today and changed the rear diff oil.
It was actually still good, but there was only about have of what was meant to be in there..
low and behold, the car is relatively quite now...
Also, discovered the rattle under the car, we belive its the centre bearing, as first thought.
Not a major issue, but I will be getting it replaced soon.
Also, finally hooked the stereo up, so got 2 speakers now omg lol...
not KENWOOD, but KINGWOOD haha wtf?
Here are some updated pics of the car...
notice the new rear bar is unpainted at the moment, will be getting this done in the coming weeks.

Looking Good mate!
you gonna get a new front bar too?
You've got the infamous bonnet-bar gap. and a front lip would look great too.

thanks gutys, yeh i will be looking at getting a new front bar down the track. Its not too bad at the moment, just needs the new bottom lip.
yeh that gap is shocking hey, and old mate the previous owner(s) have cable tied the grill to hold the bar up...
lol dodgy.
I'll be taking the bar off, and re fitting it properly in the comint weeks.

Well,
I've been doing some thinking and after the wedding (May next year) the car is going to recieve some loving....
My plans include:
Looks:
- New paint (guess which colour )
- Dark tint
- EVO 4 front and rear seats (they have a reddish/orangy fabric insert to match the paint)
- suede door trim inserts to suit the suede on the seats
- black pillar covers, and roof lining
- suede trimmed dash (possibly)
- better speakers than my KINGWOOD ones lol
- new wheels x 2 (one set for street use, one set for track)
Mechanics:
- new exhaust to replace the crappy muffler
- coilovers
- rear strut brace, and 20mm rear sway bar
- new H brace
- new turbo manifold
- bigger injectors
- new plumback BOV
- new ECU
Keeping in mind this will be my daily, I don't want to take it too far, at least not for a while until the funds allow me to buy another decent daily so I can take the GSR off the road for dedicated track use.
Anyway, they are my plans at the moment... I have in my head a picture of how I want it to look, and I'll be working towards that as much as I can.
