as shayne (ENGINR) put it, you would only want to do an awd conversion if you have the enthusiasm in yourself to do it.

Dont fool yourself into thinking you can awd a standard lancer for less than the amount you can buy a gsr/evo!

But if you do there's a small hand full on these boards who have, and can assist you along the way

& you forgot skill, tools, time, & patients to execute it.

if you want to do something unique do a mirage awd with a evo frt ;) there has only been an small hand full done

I did the Exec to EVO3 conversion. Had help with the welding but the rest I did myself. Took over a year to complete (with large gaps in between when it was on the road half done, not cool). It was a painful yet enjoyable experience. I'd never do it again myself but I would love to help someone else do it.

If you dont have the following resources/skills, don't do it:
*Minor mechanical background/friend with such skills
*Welding
*Auto electronics
*Minor fabrication
*'Local' engineer to make it all legal
*$5k - 7K (About what I spent on parts, tools, engineering etc)

I think a full conversion could be done in about 2 months allowing for time spent doing EPA testing, engineering checks and sourcing hard to find parts.

After all this work, I bought myself a GSR... My almost EVO 3 went better though :-( RIP
