hello
l have 96express 2L (carby)5speed l want to change the motor to a passenger car motor+gearbox (1.8or2.0L) to make it more freeway friendly. l dont mind if l cant fit a gearbox if l can change the ratios, so l can leave mounts+tailshaft in place. some ideas would be great as l dont no the Mitubishi range of motors and gearboxs

Well I was out bid aswell as I wanted this for my Triton, probly woulda fit in your van as well no doubt.
If you do a bit of searching there was a guy that posted up about putting an EVO 3 motor into his express van, try the members rides section.

im actually in the same situation as you.
I have a 4G63 Carbied 96 SJ Express too... looking at EFI turboing it..
Your selections:
4G93T or 4G63T (VR4 or Evo)
However i think wiring it up etc will be hard... im currently searching for an EFI tank and some wiring stuff...
