Hi all,

Just curious on what setups people are using to make good useable power with an evo 3 63t im keeping it fwd as i want a 10 second street driven fwd so far ive sourced 276 brian crower cams, valve springs, tdo5-18g with trimmed wheels and everything else is stock and new or rebuilt. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jesse.

shitting bricks with that much on the street man! i had 150fwkw and that was bad enough! torque steer at 100 kays, not so good! lol.

but saying that, you would be pushing the stock motor to make that amount...

Sounds like all you want is wheel spin...I currently have just over 200kw on my daily driven CC Coupe and on street tyres thats wheel spin in 1st 2nd and 3rd pretty easy but then comes back to are you looking to run a LSD? I'm going to be chasing down some Toyo Proxes R1R's semi street slicks as a mate has them and swears by them, Just for that little bit of extra help. But in the long run i have to agree with kayarubin you will be pushing it to make that sort of power on stock internals.

Had 238 at my front wheels.. Was fun..
Moved on from the DSM powered Sonata who put out 238kw @ the wheels .... To a GSR 2.0L that is now engineered ..

Pull every bit of weight out of it and concentrate a lot on the suspension. I saw a Laser run a 10.80 today that has 220. The car weighs around 750kg!

As mentioned anything over 200fwkw and you're frying the fronts pretty easily. Dont concentrate on the power side of things just yet, but moreso about how you are going to get the power to the ground. Instead of spending $$ on the engine hoping that more power will get you your goal, it wont. The powr will be simply unusable without other supporting mods because you'll lose a lot of time in wheel spin and torque steering all over the place (Rob Barac could barely even manage a 12 second pass in FWD so actually running a 10 would be quite an achievement - download Rob's 12.06 pass in FWD here: http://users.tpg.com...ideo/fwdevo.avi ). Instead of putting more $$ into the engine, invest in a good LSD, suspension (anti-lift kit and possibly a rear trailing arm to keep the nose down etc) and some fat guards to house some decent sticky tyres first IMO :) Get 200fwkw at the ground first, then go for more :)

gentlemen i want as much as i can with stock internals i dont care if its undrivable on the street because i wont be running this type of power on the street it will be wound down for street use,id just like a low 11-high ten if possible, the suspension i have is not going to get any better, i run dms coilovers, whiteline strut braces and swaybars! one word to describe it.....GO KART! so i just want to know what you are using to make your power.

It's going to be one big feat. If someone knows the secret on getting this kind of result on a street spec FWD with stock internals then please tell us all!!!

No - you're not giving it "the worx" by sticking with stock internals.... :P

Guys like Dave (OFFRON4 GSR) and Joe (EVLJOE Satria) have spent years and probably thousands upon thousands of $$$ to build a seriously fast drag car and you're chasing 10 seconds with a stock motor and "sticky tyres"....

Best you can do mate is pump a shitload of boost into it, juice it up with a shot of NOS and just hope you crack your high 10 or low 11 before something blows up or you torque steer it into the wall.

yeh he is mate. but his car is differently orientated.
what he's trying to say is that yeh, you might reach it, but its a time bomb waiting to go.
Its kind of like cheating on your mrs. You'll get what you want for the short term, but it will bite you in the ass later.

Ted, you CAN get 300kw+ atw (400hp) FWD with a 4G63T with stock internals, its been done several times. For a fwd you will need to run something like a GT30+, 700cc+ injectors and a tunable ECU. The power figure IS achievable... but the 10.xx is setting a very high expectation for a FWD street car. You'll need to gut your car to minimum weight and run some very fat and sticky slicks to even be in with a chance of a low 11 at the least.

This is what a 500hp 11.22 second FWD CC coupe looks like. Dont be fooled by the small size of the Satria as they weigh just as much as a Lancer does. These guys were aiming to get into the 10.xx bracket the last time I heard....

I like that analogy Deano

ted - I wasn't having a go at you, there is nothing wrong with having goals and by all means chase yours... but be a bit more realistic about them or you'll end up throwing alot of $$$ and effort away and wind up being broke and disappointed.

BTW - my car certainly isn't "the worx", it's the best I could afford to build with the goals I had in mind... and yes - like everything it has a weak point... so baring that in mind I make sure I use it and enjoy it within the limits it can handle so that I don't have to spend more $$$ and time fixing it....

Yes, but obviously not a street car. Its stripped to the fullest with superlite carbon doors and panels and lexan windows, wont have stock internals in the 1600cc engine, revs over 8000rpm+ and I tihnk has a detatchable rear wheelie bar to keep the nose down and fat sticky tyres stuck to the ground. I read up on it before and its stock door weighs 22kg each and the replacement carbon doors only weigh only 2.8kg each (about $10,000 hes spent in carbon for the whole car alone). Plus its running methanol :w00t: You can see more pics of this green beast here: http://www.flickr.co...s/24531017@N06/ . This is the kind of calibre FWD car that turns out 10.xx's!
