Sorry about the late reply champ about the turbo, but its a FP TD05 18G-6SL2, but that all about to change as the new turbo turned up.

Its a Forced Performance FP3052. I have mated it to the Tial MVR 44mm external gate with 20psi spring & stainless steel 02 housing ( 02 should be here next week) I also got the FP 4" intake pipe with 4" Filter.

I was also lucky enough to pic up a 3'5 LSD 4 bolt from Bazeng. Thanks mate

Here is some pics

Thanks champ. Yours is also coming along.

I listed some your old stuff for sale. Fingers crossed. I also just remember that I did a stereo for a mate a few months ago & he had a turbosmart 1 stage boost controller. I'll hit him up tomorrow for a price.

And even better in person. Can't wait to get it on. You should see the stainless 02 housing I bought, very sweet & v-band for easy fitting.

Looks very clean, Always had a soft spot for VR4's since a test drive back in 2001, but hard to find a tidy example these days.

Yeah I remember when the first VR4 I saw in the early 90's. Wanted ever since. My first car was a GB Galant. Went a bit off track for a while ( playing with 4age powered cars), until it was time to buy a good daily. When I found this I snapped it straight away. Only 130k on the clock & was slightly modified. I still daily drive this car so when I do stuff to it I habve to set every up before hand so the transition is fast & easy.

Thanks mate.

I bought from a member off the dsmlink site. He was not using anymore. He had the same turbo & wastegate, he up graded.

I paid 250us for it. The vband clamps are worth that by themselves. I also got a set of PTE 880cc injectors from him. This should really pump now.

Finally got the turbo on. So far its going great. Have not given it a full WOT pass yet as I sold the boost controller , so just have to get a boost guage back in the car.

Hopefully get a boost guage & get the new BCS from ECMlink to turn the boost up ( 25 psi ) is the plan.

I will say that the sound of this turbo is amazing. The TD05 was quite quiet compaired to this turbo.

A couple pics of the install. I will start doing a little tunning this week, clean the engine bay up after having my hands all over it.

The turbo was $1395 US & wastegate was $325 US. They are listed as more but when I email them they offered better prices.

Here are the links from where I bought from champ. Bolts straight on the TD05 exhaust mani.

Turbo FP 3052 Dua Ball Bearing. Its a GT3076 with a new exhaust housing to bolt on to the mitsu.

The wastegate is a Tial 44mm MVR

id be keen to see the differences aswell on the dyno if you ever get around to putting it on there. Whats it feel like as opposed to the 18g? is it more responsive?

Its been a while since I've updated on the VR4. Its going well with the new turbo. I was going to get it professionally tuned but I am going to wait until e85 is locall. The car is running well on 22psi but I'm sure the pros can get it to go alittle better & more boost.

I have decided to give the VR4 a rest from daily driving as I am putting too many k's on it. I have already put 60k on the new motor.

To take over the daily duties I am building an AE71 I got very cheap. (a mate had it with a cracked head on the 4ac ).

The car was onwed by an elderly lady. Its got 140k on the clock & even equiped with the 3 spd auto. That will be staying & mated to a 4age 16v.

I picked up the 4age with ecu, loom, alloy radiator.

So far I have fitted the engine , loom , radiator & at the moment fitting the intake pump & new line. I picked a set of 4-1 extractors that I plan on getting hpc'd before final bolt up. I just bolted the spare 15" wheels form the VR4. Ii paln on keeping it looking stock apart from the wheels & suspension. For the moment I have just played with photoshop to see what it will look like with a lower stance. Just the fiddly things left.

Hope you like guys. I should be cruising in it by june/july.

Its been a while for my VR4 t get some upgrades so while its off the road I am going to clean it up.

I have started with the engine harness to try get rid of some of the mess .

I have also decided to get a new intake manifold & will be upgrading to 1200cc injectors , getting ready for e85, once its going again.
