The new owner better spill the beans!!

Hi guys,

I thought it was finally time for me to "spill the beans" lol

I purchased the Evo 6 from Jon around a month ago and only until today have I had the opportunity to give it a quick wash.

First things first, it had no stereo when I took delivery so in went an Eclipse DVD headunit with reversing camera. Pretty standard inside apart from the Razo gear knob and Samsung phone charger. :P

Not much happening in the engine bay department apart from the 3 point Cusco strut brace and Noltec camber/Castor adjustable pillow top mounts. Apparently with the 3 inch HKS exhaust and HKS EBC set to around 1.2bar, it's producing 206kw's at the wheels.

Posted Image

I pounced on the opportunity to pick up a set of Rays Ralliart Evolution R-01's in Gunmetal (18" x 8.5 +30 offset) for a steal (relatively speaking) from a member on EVO OZ. Fitted some Kumho KU36 rubber (235/40/18)... currently they're rubbing the guards, so i'll have to rectify that soon. :o

Posted Image

It's lowered with KTS (HKS) coilovers all round and aethetically it is unchanged from the factory barring the Carbon Fibre Canards and Evo V rear garishes.

After all that, my bank balance is bleeding and my credit card is smoking so i'll only be making very subtle changes in the near future.

Next year I might look a little more seriously about adding some power parts and some carbon fibre aero bits as I have always had a carbon fibre fetish. :P

Hope you all approve! :)

Wheels suit it perfectly! Nice choice my friend. Glad to see your enjoying it. I always wanted to put some Carbon goodies, I was lucky to score the Canards....and then a god damn bird hit the RH side canard!
Seriously, birds are attracted to that car, 4 have flown into it! I think they think it is the sky.

Cheers fellas! :) I know wheels can make or break a car and the purchase was a spur of the moment thing. I am pretty happy and also glad it sits well in the stomach of most people...

Before taking ownership, I vowed myself not to throw too much money at it because it's pretty damn good straight out of the box. One month later and 4K gone!!

just dont forget about the lil cordia

what about evo85... i love that car

It's been sitting in the garage collecting dust since Dec last year with a canary on the windsreen. I went for a quick spin in it just before I picked up the Evo and bloody hell does it sound good, much better than the Evo and straight line speed, it's on another plane, in fact it's scary!! I hope to give it some track time sometime in the near future seeing as it already has RE55's on the rear and a 10K forged engine re-build that has only seen 3,000km's of road use since it was re-built last year.

At least the old girl's not lonely now! :P

A bit of an update:

I just finished uni for the year so now i'm working properly, I can finally afford to throw a little money around... :P

I picked up a Zero Fighter front lip and had it fitted this week. It sits roughly 1 inch lower than the standard lip so I anticipate that it'll be destroyed in the first car park I drive through - but hopefully not!

Also picked up some real carbon fiber interior goodies and fitted them at the same time (fascia panel and binnacle surround). It certainly makes a marked improvement over the cheap econo plastic stuff!

It's being strapped to the dyno over the weekend so when I get the results (for what it's worth lol), i'll post them up. :)
