It's Wyda's (Scott's) old car. He sold it to daniel, this dude bought it from Ballarat unless Daniel moved house.

That's a Hybrid FMIC (about 6 or 7 hundred dollars worth)
Meek pipework
Rear diff has been rebuilt twice (might wanna check to see if Ron shoved an LSD in there)
Gearbox has been rebuilt once that I know of
There should be a boost controller on it somewhere
Suspension was king springs and Koni's but could be anything by now.

Good luck with it, she's seen a few things.
The 4G63 motor code is street shorthand for dominance. It's automotive Darwinism.

Exactly the story i was told.
The springs are still king and the shocks are still koni's (i checked this today)
There was a single stage manual boost controller, now theres a dual stage electronic.
Unsure on the LSD but it definatly handles well on the gravel. Taking it down the strip in november so may need another box rebuild, clutch should hold up i replaced that not long ago.

Well its been a while since i posted anything on this,
Since i bought it back to Tassy, theres been a rattle or a vibrating sound coming from what seemed to be the tailshaft, the symptoms led me to believe it was uni joints (vibration between 60-100kph, only under acceleration).
As it is now, i've replaced the 3 uni joints, and the problem is still there. I've read in FAQ about a silicon trick people have used on the rear tailshaft mounting rubber, i'm hesitant to try it as im not sure on the results and i dont like guessing about irreversible things.
So i'm just wondering if anyone has any other advice or suggestions i should try?

On a modification note, i shall be replacing the turbo with a TD06 which i will have soon.
I will have to modify the inter cooler piping a touch
Purchase Bigger injectors
Install an adjustable fuel pressure regulator
I will also quite possibly be running an external fuel pump
These are just a few of the changes i will be making.
Any idea on what the maximum safe boost level on stock internals is?

Cheers for any help, we'll see what disasters 2010 holds for this car.
Cheers, Mike.

It all comes down to your Engines internal health. As long as the tune is spot on you will easily handle 20psi. My advice is to just chuck new rings and bearings in to be sure.
Check your carrier bearings. Your tail shaft should be sitting in the centre of them, if it has sagged to the bottom it will cause a vibration. Check by holding the tailshaft on either side of the carrier bearing and pusing up and down, there should be minimal movement. Too much movemet = Replace. Don't do dodgy's.

Thanks Jonson, i've taken the tailshaft out, and shall take it into tas driveline for them to suss it out and replace the bearing's.

Well, thanks to a lot of guys off this forum the galant is very nearly ready to see the road once more.
However, it wont be there for long.
Since its been off the road i have managed to somehow purchase CLuTZ's turbo, which has been inspiration enough for me to build a 2.3l stroker for the old Galant.
My way of thinking is not to go pull my engine out, but rather get another block and totally rebuild that. Making it easier to remember why im doing it.
Thats the plan anyway lol... Start of a loong painful process all over again.

Have braided oil lines to go on yet, so it should be all good.
Car hasn't been driven in months so looking forward to the first fire up with the SS dump, manifold and new hi flow cat.

Ok boys and girls i have a slight update.
She's officially running again. I havn't yet driven it in a spirited manner, and i wont, untill everything is set up properly.
The full 3" exhaust certainly makes it sound decent.
I can't even comment on the turbo yet as it's only seen maybe 2psi boost when i took it down the shop. lol

So atm its looking a little wounded due to the accident but it shouldn't take long to repaint a few things bits.
Also only running some standard intake plastics couple'd with some magna intake bits. This is one of the main reasons i won't give it much stick untill everything is sorted.
Anyway, enough dribble...

I stole this photo from the person i bought the turbo off. Hope he doesn't mind. Lol

Keep up the good work mate, the build is lookin good.

Let us know how the 60-1 goes once you can give it some stick. I have been looking into one of these turbo’s for a while so it would be awesome to hear how they perform on our motors.

Ill be watching this space.

Shall do mate. Pretty sure there are a fair few people with questions about the turbo.
I'll do my best as the guinea pig lol.
I'm pretty much new at modifying things to the level this car needs me to, but i'll give it a decent shot. Research is key as far as im concerned... and a BLOODy lot of it. Thank god for you guys here at 4GTuner and Galantvr4.

The next problem is boost cut, so i've been looking into this ecmtuning eprom.
I'm faced with two problems regarding that, and they are A. finding someone to put it in that's any good and B. tuning it, because as i said, im a noob and don't particularly trust myself to pull it off as good as it needs to be.

The list of things to do is massive. But one thing at a time.

Great to see someone else getting onto the performance bandwagon with a Maroon VR4, after all we all know that Red is the fastest colour

As far as Ecmlink goes, tuning is actually pretty easy as long as you have a wideband to help. If you haven't already purchased injectors then you can go as big as you like and never have to upgrade when the car starts to feel slow!

How much time do you spend in a parking lot with your performance car? If you do a lot of parking lot driving, and hang out in parking lots, chances are you are a ricer, go home and read import tuner. If you’re complaining about noise you should not be modifying your car. You should also consider no longer being a man, please hand in your genitals at the door.

Are the rims meant to be te37 knockoffs? If so, why no concave? i have never seen them looking like these.
