All arrived, and just waiting to distribute to the boys, my ecu is getting socketed, so i'll be upgraded as of next week. Thanks for a quick and easy transaction

Tom is fine, BTW.

One thing I wanted to mention is that we're adding some new features to lite soon. I'll try to remember to update here. We're bringing the RPM-based fuel and timing sliders from full and we're moving MAF compensation into the ECU config area so you can use the MAF Adjust function to auto-dialin your MAF setup.

I didn't realize so many people wanted the RPM-based sliders. We found that out pretty quickly when we released the DSM version of lite. That was the first thing people brought up that was missing from lite that they expected and wanted. I guess it makes sense. You slap the EVO8 tables in as a good, tuned base map and then just quick tweak the RPM-sliders to do what want instead of having to manually edit each cell of the full table.

still haven't had much time to play around with it and i don't have a wb02 as yet. apart from conveniently being preset for my 560cc e6 injectors, i have so far been able to set launch control, rev limit, and antilag just by plugging the usb cable into the diagnostics port and checking a box on the program.
only issue so far is that i don't think evos have a clutch switch? which is required for nlts.. but still looking into it.

thomas, how agressive are the e8 ralliart maps exactly? i'm tempted to try it out but considering that i don't have a wb02 set up yet it may be a bit risky.

There should have been a wire in the box luu, that's for the clutch if you want NLTS.

I was thinking that it wouldn't be good for me cause of my driving style, i dont take my foot away from the pedal when i am giving it some gas...

so if i was just pressing the clutch, (not disengaging the clutch, but resting on the pedal) i could enable the early limiter, and take power away from accelleration..

I find the Evo gbox really short, and there isn't much time between shifts.. id have to change how i drive i think.

Somehow I keep missing the update notices for this thread.

'tis true, mostly.

DSMers tend to prefer the cruise control disable switch (activated as soon as your foot touches the clutch pedal) for the no lift to shift function because it cuts fuel immediately before the clutch is even disengaged. This unloads the transmission sooner before the shift occurs and really seems to help engagement into the next gear.

But you can also use the lower clutch switch (used to activate the starter when your foot has the clutch pedal pull depressed to the floor). I'm sure you guys at least have that one. You just wire it into the appropriate ECU input (pin 71, A/T D input) so that the ECU see a switch to ground when the switch is activated.

I guess they're not too bad. You can load them up and compare to your stock maps to decide. I would personally just slap the evo8-mod1 tables in and go. Those are really nice, functional safe base maps to start with.

guys, just letting you all know that ECMtuning are now selling a Speed Density package for the ECM, which makes converting to MAP sensor not only friggen piss-easy but cheap as too!
I almost feel like I'm cheating here its so easy haha!

Looking at your comparison table it say that the EVO1-3 ecu is only supported with the V3 Lite.
Is there plans for the full V3 in the futre or am i reading it wrong.
Also does the ECM Link have or able to program in rotational idle?

Also without pulling my cage back out for easier access to remove the ECU from my EVO3, the only numbers i could see are 2364 and below that number E2T38391.
Which are different to the numbers you have on your website link http://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/epromid
Is there another number on the back of the ECU?

For the EVO1-3 platforms, we only have V3Lite. Unless we get a lot of requests for the full package (so far we have not), then that's all we plan to release for the early EVOs.

Rotational idle is not supported in ECMLink. It's only purpose is to work around some rule requirements that no ECMLink user I'm aware of is required to work around. It would only be added to "sound cool".

The ECU numbers you listed match the EVO3 ECU. That 4-digit number (2364) is actually just the last four digits of the full MD part number. Also, if I google the E2T number, I find that it's just a different part number for the full MD number as well. So it's definitely marked as an EVO3 ECU.

LOL. OK, describe the operation to me again...I've never actually seen this in action in person. Is it just a really low off throttle, stationary fuel cut or is it fancier than that?

I don't know how it works, but I know it makes the car a real pain to drive at "idle speeds" as the car lurches forward each time the motor "idles" so to speak. I would only have it if it was switchable.

I think it cuts the fuel to one cylinder per rotation or something.
IIRC it is used in combination with anti-lag so that the engine does not rev too much. (As the throttle needs to be partially open for anti-lag).

Something like that....I think lol

Craig (to4garret) knows exactly what it is and how it works, because has/had it on his car.
