HI my drivers side recaro seat in my evo1 broke last night night so i'm in need of a new seat. question is will stock evo 8 seats physicaly fit in the car properly? i can mod my rails if needed. or does any one have any suggestions for new seats?

I can't remember who, but there is someone on here selling a gsr / evo with evo 7 seats? If they fit, then maybe the 8 seats should too?

That's GSRSOL, but he had his rails modded to fit into the older shape lancer.

EVO 1-6 seats are interchangeable. You need to modify the late model EVO rails to fit in the older cars.

i left the seat at work i'll take pictures tomorrow. basicy i sat down an d the back rest fell into the back seat. it was internal damage the ajusteres didnt' fail. what i was thinking was modding my rails so they bolt up to the new evo 8 seats.

na its a different base pattern. you'll have to get those modified. easier to mod the late model rails

i had to modify EVO 6 rails to suit the EVO 7 seats

EVO 1-6/GSR Recaro rails are the same. You cant just bolt those rails on the newer seats though. You need to mod the newer seat rails to go in the older cars.

well you can do something similar to this.
i did this to my brothers stock crx rails to fit some sr4's (off a dc5)

mild steel. drill some holes, bolt up the mild steel plate to the seat then bolt rails on to the mild steel.



thats why i thought all recaro's rails were the same, these had same mounting holes as mine and the evo 2's didn't they changed it. thought that it was the floor plan was the one that changed though from evo's 7-9

I have heard (from a fairly reliable source as they actually have evo 8 seats in a ce mirage) that you can fit the Evo8 recaro seat to the evo 1-6 base plate, in which you can then fit the the Evo 1-6 rails...

I am yet to physically confirm or deny this, however will be able to within a few weeks when some seats arrive for me...

Na bro, I had J-spec GSR recaros in my old VR4 and swapped the rails out with EVO 2 seats.......

A little off topic, how about rear seats? What rear seats (if any) from later version EVO's fit into EVO's 1-3?
