I dunno boys, it looks wierd because the tyres are too narrow for the rims Would be better with 8 or 8.5" rims IMO.
thats why i went 17s at 40 series rubber, looks tougher with meatier tyres IMO. but the drift boys like em stretched tyres.

What's the point of having a wider rim with skinnier tyres though?
You're only going to get as much track as the tyre can accomodate right?

The car is built for drifting. And drift cars are built predominantly for looks - lets face it the whole sport is a "show off" sport.
It allows the car to be lower, track to be wider, without major body mods. Also allows the driver to often run a cheaper tyre (soft sidewall) and get less flex in the meantime.
Granted it's not used as much in other forms of motorsport, but it does have it's place.....
