that looks tuff dude!
It has come along way from sitting on the side of the roadwith you tring to get it into gear.

I wonder what mine would do at 22psi?

I'm not sure on the surge tank exposed like that? generally if you come off the road - its backwards!

very nice none the less! We should go for another run soon!

Very nice power at 23psi dude! :) I didnt catch the turbo specs used?
Thats the similar under boot floor fuel setup I was looking at doing myself if the need arises.
Keep up the great work. Awesome update too by the way :)

Props on the fabrication work, I would definitely get some kind of bash plate to protect the surge tanks and fuel pump you wouldn't want to compromise where Safety is involved.
Progressing nicely BTW:thumbsup:

With trippy's help we have cut all the ally up and got one of the welders at work to tig it all. You don't notice it too much from behind as it's tucked up really high, i wanted an external surge tank as i didn't want any fuel smell inside the cabin. I don't think it will be prone to damage as the top and bottom at made from 6mm plate ally and it's right next to the chassis rail so you would need a decent hit to smash it.
This exact surge tank is the same as what we are offering to sell i just need to upload the pictures.
Thanks for the comments guys

For other reason than this "generally if you come off the road - its backwards!"

I'm sure the tank will be fine for some damage before it leaks any fuel, its more to protect the fuel line's.

Think of it this way, it will only take a stick to get flicked up at reasonable road speed to either damage or create a leak in your fuel lines and you would have no idea it was leaking untill your car is on fire underneath.

Please don't take this the wrong way as the workmanship is very good, Its the safety aspect I'm looking at more than anything.

With a surge tank inside the boot at least no outside elements can compromise the fuel lines

Any shielding of the fuel line's exposed even with a thin steel plate would be better than nothing at all.

its going to have complete braided lines the whole way not rubber when u play with fuel u dont cut corners.in my set up it cost 3k in parts.if u look at the pictures its completly off set to the rear wheel.if u crashed the car arse end first theres no diff if its inside or out side.

Its sitting higher and made of stronger material than the OEM fuel tank so it should be well protected :)
Only thing I would relocate is the fuel pump as some c*nt would get under the car and rip it off lol.
Braided fuel lines under a street rego'd car are illegal. Not only that they dry up over time, split and leak. I recommend 3/8" alloy tubing as a minimum. It will dent under damage instead of frey and split plus its stronger, safer and cheaper than than braided hose

You can bend 3/8" alloy line to take the exact original path, and use the original brackets also, with some filing etc. I've done it. Looks factory.

Cant wait to see it with the Tarmac's.. will look hot. Keep the updates coming....

+ 2 on the alloy hard lines ....

I have braid as the main supply line at the moment and it sucks (the install job is pretty bad as well)

I am upgrading to alloy hardline in the factory location shortly, with surge tank and external pump setup as well.

this car is a minter. The tarmacs will be mega!

I've changed from braid to hard line and honestly, its under the car. Braided could probably take a bit more punishment because the hardline isn't really all that thick.

The only problem with braid is that it sweats a bit (smells of fuel).
If I were to do it again, I'd go to an alloy place, buy a thick walled alloy tube and run it under the car with -8 fittings welded to the ends of them. Then run braid to the fuel filter / rail and the other end to the surge tank.
