Im looking at getting a CT9a evo.. just wondering who has insurance on one of these things and how much are they paying? age mods etc?
I just got a quote for ~$1800 and i just turned 25 yesterday.
ps it was just cars, shannon said they couldnt give me a competitive price.

my eight costs me 1220.00 a year insured for 35000
had quotes ranging from 3200 to 1000..........average was 1300. qbe insurance seemed to have a good policy......but when the asked if it was imported they lost interest when i said yes....then i confused her and said they are all imported.
shannons was up near thje highest

yer i got quoted by just cars 1798 prem on a 1500 excess or something
1298 if i took the 2600 excess.. i wont be driving the car everyday so im probably going to take the 1298...
its an ADM Evo 8 thats pretty modified.
When i was insured awhile ago i was rating 1.
Lost my license in Jun 2006 and afew tickets here and there nothing major... but they only ask for last 3 years.

I think you'll find you're rating 2 or 3 now which is why the premiums so expensive. A straight thru online quote on a e8 just came out at 1288 for me via cgu so yeah. :/

you could put it on a limited use policy with shannons, that would reduce the premium by a bit also (if youre only driving it on weekends)

I've just started a policy with Shannons for a JDM 8.
$1200 per year with level 2 mods, I'm 24. The only reason they let me in is because I'm a committee member of GSR/Evo club which is cams affiliated, I told them I have Cams licence (which I will soon) and that I'm a mechanic. They let you pay it monthly with no extra fees, allow usage discounts and will reduce it if the car isn't your daily drive. Pretty happy with them, seeing I was paying $1800 per year for my VI!
That policy is also covering $10,000 worth of tools!

A lot of people are going to say go with this company go with that one blah blah blah....
A major factor in pricing is postcode. If you live near a shopping centre with a high theft rate as I do, you are going to get anal fisted on the price, even though if you were to insure it one suburb away it would cost between $200-$400 less..... If a couple of 9's got written off last month it probably didnt help either.
Im 26 and Im paying about $1200 with Just-Cars full comp.
If you've just turned 25 it will help the cause a little, though these days it seems as though 28is the benchmark for pricing to come down on any sports car.
I would have to say Just Cars is probably the way to go in Melbourne. I looked at insuring my VII with Shannons and they were $400 more expensive (even though Im rating one, have had no disqualifications in the last 3 years and no accidents and Im a member of evo OZ and this forum...)

well the car is heavily modified with about $15-20k worth of mods over a stock car.. i think that was the main thing. Its insured for an agreed value of $38,700.

I've got to renew my membership, racv want $520 for 3rd party fire & theft.
Might look elsewhere, justcar's online quote was like $115. I like racv but thats a decent amount of difference, maybe I'll check out full comp prices. Cant go with Shannon's btw, age.

nah not that red one from adelaide.. it hasnt had that much of extensive engine work... its had more handling work etc..
still sort of in discussion but hopefully should work out.
in all honesty $1298 looks ok.. i can pay by the month which is better for me as i have a mortgage.. obviously the excess is a killer $2600 but i havent been in an accident that is my fault ever in my 8years of driving *touch wood* so im ok with that...
ive spoken to mates who have 6-8 and they are paying like 950-1100 but they are in the late 20s early 30s bracket too prob not as modified as this car either.
